Our stay seemed to short in this wonderful city. The view hotel was a perfect accommodation for our cycling trip. I would strongly recommend trying to book during the betcha festival and catching some of the celebration and drums in the city. Our staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helped us with our questions about the city. The...

This accommodation was probably my worst in all of Japan. I stayed at hostels all times except for this one and hostels easily beat view hotel seizan. First of all- don't make the mistake of thinking it's easy to walk to the hotel from the station. While it says 5mins, it's also up an extremely steep cliff which isn't a...

I am not one to pay a taxi almost as much as a room costs, particularly needing to do it every time you need to visit town. It is a definite huff and puff to climb up the hill. So stay here if you are up to the challenge. An amazing view, friendly staff, decent Thai restaurant await you. The...

This is one of the more unusual places I have stayed in Japan. You have quite a climb up a hill but then when you get there, you realize it was all worth it! The views from this spot are I incredible! The lobby is loaded with kitsch and it looks as though it was at its prime about 40...

+friendly and helpful staff, ? Location (10 mins walking from JR- if you don't mind +/-250 steps up the hill) if you arrive with the Shinkansen best is to take a taxi for 1200-1400¥ -Payments only in cash -All in one plastic bathroom cabinet (looks old and moldy) -The toilet paper holder was fixed to the wall with tape! -I...

This is great value budget hotel. You have a very nice view over Onomichi city and the Inland sea. The building is a bit old but all facilities are there. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If arriving at Onomichi station you have two choices walk the stairs or take a taxi. Walking are for the fit people the...

Amazing views from the hotel. Found the walk up from the station with backpack tough going, I'm very unfit ;-) Great base for the Temple route and also the park/ropeway. Didn't eat here so can't comment on that, loads of great little places in town I wanted to try. Staff are great, beds are clean and warm. Decor is a...

As the Name 'View Hotel Seizan' implies, the view is great! The hotel stands on top of a hill and I recommend to use a taxi, especially if you carry any kind of luggage. There is a short way to the hotel, but it consists mostly of steep stairs. The room was spacy and the bed was comfortable (although my...

This place ranks middle of the class. Nothing special but nothing disastrous either. Pros - amazing view over Onomichi, large rooms with seating lounge, close to station (10 minute walk up a steep hill - good for winning some calories to cover all the good food you can eat in town), clean and tidy. Cons - place is a bit...

We stayed one night in room 207 and booked the hotel due to what was available in the area which was limited being a Saturday night and a last minute booking. For 7,000 Yen (c.£40), you get what you pay for so we cannot complain. It really is a basic hotel and not really a place for us. The room...
