We had a problem upon check in.Please cancel your reservations , its not worthy! Our reservation had to two adults and a child 14 but hotel was showing only two adults. After going back and forth, the agent could not het it resolved. we asked for manager or supervisor, but we re told they were was no manager due to time 7pm. After an hour of insisting, we had a gentleman by name Ernesto Ruiz, He explained the app we had booked did not added my child to reservation which is very common he stated. The only solution was for us to paid $214.00 additional to the amount we had already paid in our reservation .The Front desk lady while adding my daughter to our folio, agent did a reservation to seafood restaurant. YOU HAVE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR MEALS ( breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)now about 8:05pm. we went to room to change to go eat. we figured we will do best out the bad check in. while having dinner the waitress were some attentive. we asked for bread and waiter returned apologizing as they had no more bread. 😠. After dinner the dessert waiter came by the table saying all he had was chocolate cake as all the other options had run out. SALAD Bar had no dressings! we r staying one more day as i went to ask if they can refund the next night but front desk is not able to do it . i will need to file thru their call center and give reason. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO CANCEL, I highly encourage you to choose a different Hotel. Also if you like a mini frige , even for medical necessity, is $6 a night. Bar drinks were horrible. …
More like a 0 star… horrible service from the gate to the check in desk . Not ignore other reviews, it you ask for the manager not one in on duty late afternoon. Lazy and rude customer service.. hour wasted at the front desk because they have an issue with my reservation although i have email and confirmation still want to charge me . The funny part is not one at duty to help mr at 7pm all manager , supervisor etc are not in the resort. So I suppose to wait until tomorrow morning in the lobby or pay extra ?? This is called extorsión. First and last time !!!!!!! Will never come back
If you’re a tourist, don’t book from a third party. Decameron aka Irena is lazy to look at their bookings. She made us wait 2 hours just to tell us later that she did have our names in their system……..
The only thing good here is the amazing sunsets, and Decameron is not responsable for them, that’s natures work. Awful food, the staff is always rude and treat you like they are making you a favor for giving you a plate of food. They have ridiculous schedule for everything, like towels and meals and if you are a little bit late, your problem you would stay without the service you already pay for! I came here 5 years ago and was good but not now is just not worth the money. Are all savadorians so rude? And no, I don’t want you vacation membership PELASE STOP ASKING. Antes eras chévere Decameron!!
Big scam going on! don’t sign for membership if they ask you, not worth it, in short you can have better deals as not been a member than a member! They even ask you for your fingerprints which is a big no no! And yes if you call the hotel they always said that is full but is not! But they always will find you a room at their top price they can charge, this are Colombian own resorts working like you know what! It happened to me and I regret it! If anyone knows any lawyer that can help will be appreciated!
We were there June of 2022. The resort looks beautiful and that's it. Food needs to get better, beer was water base and not tasty at all. Mix drinks were bad quality. I rather buy beer and drinks of good quality. Rooms smelled moldy and need a lot of upgrades. It seems royal decameron stayed back with the history. I rather go to Acapulco, Cancun, puerto vallarta, or Mazatlan and spend the money there than at royal decameron. Better to go to costa azul, los cobanos, el majagual or el tunco
My husband and I stayed here around Christmas 2022. The weather was beautiful. Hot! 35°C. Rooms: We stayed in the standard room. Which was that, standard. There was 2 twin beds, as well as a single daybed. There was a TV in the room (we never used it). The room was clean, including the bathroom. There was no mini-fridge in the room, nor was there a coffee maker. The housekeepers give you 2 bottles of water a day which does not seem to be enough when it is so hot. Pools: we sat at 2 of the pools - both were excellent, lots of chairs around it never a problem finding a spot. There was a towel hut at each pool which was convenient. Beach: I consider us to be, beach people. So I was a bit nervous when we first walked the beach as it was quite rocky. (Still beautiful) however then as we walked down the beach to near the Thai restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised when the rock opened up and there was a beautiful Sandy beach to swim in! Food: We ate at the buffet, as well as 3 restaurants (Olivia (Italian), Thai, and Le Mar (seafood), as well as the steak house for lunch. Thai resturant was our favorite with the most flavor. A lot of the foods we ate were more on the bland side.…
I was there in October 2022 with my mother and my daughter before the trip I had read many of the reviews and did not have high expectations I own a time share at a crown resort in Cabo were the facilities and the service is excellent and after seeing the many apologies from Juventino to all the complaints I expected some resolution or improvements to the common complaints but that is not the case. So here is my review Check in was not long, there was a mix up with the reservation but Elizabeth Navarro had it resolved within 15 minutes we also had an upstairs unit but when she saw my elderly mother she changed it to a ground unit. Paying at the front desk was long as they seem to be busy but all they do is waste time and make it long. The room was ok, was clean , bed and pillows ok, bathroom was clean, we had to call for a few things but they came quickly, had plenty of water in room, it was cleaned daily with clean towels, the maids did a great job and were friendly, the facilities were in good condition, the entire resort was clean, the pools were clean and had no issues getting towels. The entire staff was friendly had not issues with that. my biggest issue was the drinks and food, the mixed drinks were watered down could not taste the alcohol in them so I drunk beer, the food was not good at all, the buffet was the worst most of the food was tasteless, the pancakes were dry and hard there was variety but not good, the salvadorean food like pupusas, panes con pavo, tamales, and tamales de elote were horrible the only food I liked were the omelets, beans and the espumillas. I would have the head chef try the food so he can see that the food being made under his watch is horrible to say the least or send him to the near towns to taste the typical food so he see that the food out there is better, the food at the restaurants was better but not by much. I had a good relaxing time except for the horrible food. …
I really don't understand the complaints. We stayed here for a week in August and had very few complaints and certainly didn't see the problems that othesr see. We have stayed at another Decameron in Jamaica and both are nice and relaxing in different ways. There is an ATM on the premises. It's hidden, but it's there. The fee to use it is $7.00 but since El Salvador is on the US dollar and the prices are cheaper than the US, it's an easy fee to swallow. 1. The complaints about the lines for food. We had no issue getting seated for any meal. The trick is to download the Decameron reservation app provided on flyers throughout the resort. Then you don't have to go to the lobby and queue up to make your reservations. I'd make mine on my phone at 6 am and go back to sleep. I get that not everyone wants to pay international data fees (in our case we have Verizon and it's $10 and totally worth it). The restaurants are not available everyday nor for every meal, this is true. Friday through Sunday had the most options. But honestly, the central buffet is more than worth it. Fantastic local food. Yes, it's odd that they call it a buffet and don't let you serve yourself except at specific stations (cereal, salad, juices, breads). Breakfast is especially delicious at the buffet. Oliva is the second best place to eat and I highly recommend the lasagna and will admit the paella was very disappointing. The Steak House/Grill was not that great, although my husband loved his baby back ribs. I thought the beef was chewy and they are aggressive with the grill flavor. The International buffet in what is called Bamboo and was lackluster but filling. 2. Lines for drinks. Yes, this happens. It's hot and you're at a pool. During the weekdays not all the bars are open but there are 4 that are open. Two at one pool by Bamboo, one at the pool by Oliva, and then the main bar in the center of the resort. The convenience market also sells individual beers. They had at least 4 varieties plus Smirnoff Ice on hand. The pours are not 4 ounces, they're 8 ounces which is the same as you get in Jamaica. Pro tip: bring a travel mug. They will fill a 16, 24, 32 ounce mug of your choice if you don't want to go back and forth a ton. And the convenience store sells them if you don't bring your own. The drinks are strong, the beer is tasty. The longest I stood in line was maybe 10 minutes and that's because when the bartender was making a pina colado, a wasp got into it. Nothing was watered down. 3. The rooms. Yeah, the rooms could use a refresh but they're not bad and they don't smell moldy like Jamaica did. The air conditioner works, the rooms were clean, the linens were clean, the bathroom was clean, and the beds were comfortable (they are very hard mattresses which I like). Unlike many places in the US currently, the housekeeping comes every single day. They replace sheets and towels every other day. The safe in our room was completely useless, but that's fine. All rooms have a balcony (another difference from Jamaica). I'm not going to say that the walls are thin, we actually never heard the rooms on either side but the room above us seemed to rearrange the furniture every night and that was loud. We were located not too far from the lobby, the main pool, and the disco and you could hear the thumping of music. It didn't keep us up but lighter sleepers may want to be aware of that. What did wake us up were the storms at night. August is part of their rainy season so it rains almost every night. 4. The staff. I have no idea where people are getting the idea the staff was rude. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was absolutely pleasant and kind. We don't know a great deal of Spanish and not many of the staff knew a lot of English but we made it work. Google translate helps a lot. Pro tip: it's not a tipping culture like the US is used to. We did tip whenever we could (more out of habit than anything else) and people did appreciate it. 5. Miscellaneous. Pro tip: bring your own beach towels. There are two stations to get towels and they're not super conveniently placed. We brought our own and it cut down on that annoyance. Pro tip: If you want to do an excursion, go to the tourism office located next to the convenience store and talk to them. The app isn't accurate on what's offered and the prices. Don't expect a same day excursion. Salinitas is about 2.5 hours from everything (4 hours to Antigua) so they ask you to book in advance and then you wait to see if your excursion makes. The pools are shallow. The deepest points are 4.33 feet at the side pool, the main pool is over 6 feet. The tidal pool is deeper and then, of course, there is the ocean and the beach right there if pools aren't your jam. The entire time we were there they were flying red and white flags which meant poor swimming conditions and jellyfish/sting rays/manta rays were present. That didn't stop people from swimming. It didn't stop us from swimming. You get beautiful sunsets every night. The bars at Oliva and Bamboo have the widest array of cocktails, but the pool bars can also deliver on that point. There are daily and nightly entertainment options. We didn't partake of any of that. When we visited the it seemed like very large (think 8-12 people) families were the order of the day and they did take advantage of the entertainment which freed up the pools. The arcade area was closed, probably due to COVID. All the staff are masked at all times. Some guests are as well. Your mileage may vary on this point.…
Fiirst there is no internet in the rooms It's 2022 are you for.real There was no spa no massage no nothing Very disappointed Buffet was not very good Restaurants were good All the servers and hotel staff were excellent 5 dollar tips for a long way Don't wait in line for anything The hotel has this sign up for reservations Policy but you can tip the front desk to get you a card to go to the buffet anytime you want Booze was watered down Music was nonstop I would never ever return to this place Whoever owns this place doesn't give a s..t about their clients Everything is on the cheap Could be way better
