We booked this room for a short stay in the Morbihan region of Brittany because of the very good reviews and we were not disappointed. This is a two star hotel but star ratings aren’t everything. We stayed in the superior room number 19 (with a view onto the lovely garden) which was clean and comfortable with a good bathroom. You may not be able to see a room previously occupied by Agatha Christie but the room was spacious and comfortable (better in fact than a recent four star we’ve stayed in in Hong Kong). The breakfast buffet was excellent for the price with wonderful croissants and apricot jam amongst the highlights. Monsiuer and Madame les proprietaires and the staff we met were extraordinarily kind and put up with our profile fumbling French with a cheery smile: nothing was too much trouble and their warmth and charm complemented the quiet efficiency of the hotel. This was important too us as this was a tenth anniversary trip. The location of the hotel is extremely good. Though near a roundabout and the road out of Auray, the road itself is not busy and the walk to the lovely Port St Goustan and to Auray itself is a leisurely 15 minutes’ walk. It was a little hard to find on arrival because of the vagaries of the Garmin Satnav which was incapable of finding the road but, once found the hotel is well situated. Lovely little Logis. Clean room, lovely hosts and good breakfast- lovely sat on the terrace. Recommend the 10-15 minute walk down to the river and quayside. Very pretty with lots of restaurants and bars.

A very ordinary hotel, near a roundabout and next to a fairly busy road. Room small and facing the road. Bathroom and room basic but clean. Had to leave window wide open to cool down, no AC. Reception friendly and pointed out that it is possible to book direct with hotel. I am afraid that the description lead me to believe it was a better location, near the harbour. Disappointed. Nearby restaurant good but menu pretty limited and not budget.

Although it looks a little off the beaten track, the hotel is actually well located in relation to the port area and the main activity by the old Auray bridge - a maximum fifteen minute walk or a five minute drive to an area with relatively easy parking most of the time and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The hotel itself has plenty of free parking within its grounds and a lovely garden area for walking or resting. We stayed for three nights and had a comfortable garden room with plenty of space. We had breakfast each day and that included a really fine range of breads, with cheese, meats and all accompaniments one would expect, yogurts, fruit, juice and cereals and very good coffee and other drinks. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, supplying maps and advice and the service was splendid overall. This hotel is a good base for visiting Vannes and the Gulf of Morbihan as well as Auray itself.…

Situated on the outskirts of the old town, it is a 10 minute safe walk from the centre. There is a fine restaurant right next door if you cannot face the walk (closed Mondays). Reception and service is fine and friendly. I had a standard room on the ground floor. Small but well equipped with wifi that worked. Quiet overnight so good sleep. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. Plenty of free parking. Well worth the money for the nights stop over.

What a pleasant surprise for an economical price. The parking and grounds all very well laid out. The Croissants and quality of all the items at breakfast especially from their local bakery and coffee were of very high standards. The rooms are of adequate size (we had a superior double room) and we had our dog with us and the bed very comfortable for a good nights sleep. The location near St Goustan port is excellent for restaurants and scenery. All in all a very well run hotel and highly recommendable for quality and price.

A comfortable budget hotel in a convenient location to explore the gulf de morbihan. A little dated decor, but clean and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff. Plentiful continental breakfast selection. Excellent value for money. Would definitely use again if in the area.

Hotel Branoc was a pleasant surprise. The place was clean and well maintained and offered a nice breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. The room was small it adequate. The grounds were large and lovely. There were several places to sit and relax in the sun, and there were patio tables and chairs where you could pull out a bottle of wine and some bread and cheese for lunch or dinner.

Position excellent for local sights,eg-st.goustan port,15 minute leisurely walk.(we are 72/69) very clean and comfortable(superior room facing garden)beautifully kept garden,perfect to relax in on return from days out and about,loungers provided! very quiet and peaceful,good free parking! reception was very good,mainly manned by Jean Baptiste who was very helpful , friendly ,spoke good English and should be valued by the owners!,as should the gentleman who ran the breakfast room,all of which was superb! We travel to this area quite a lot, and now we have found this delightful hotel we will use it all the time in future. We stayed for 5 nights but would have been happy to stay longer,perhaps next time!

We were driving from South West France to Roscoff, Brittany and decided to break the journey with a one night stay in Auray at this hotel. It is perfectly located just off the N165 and so easy to find. The room was adequate with a large bathroom and the bed was comfy. A decent selection at breakfast including cereals, croissants, meats and cheeses, jams etc. All in all a good choice for a short break.
