Rooms clean and modern, very nice swimming pool, welcoming and helpful host. Short walk and close to the town centre where there are plenty of quality restaurants. Auray is a must visit destination in Brittany. Good value would stay again.
Short ferry trip for us from Jersey to St Malo then a 2hour drive to Auray. The Hotel has a secure gated car parking area. We had the superior double room and this was superb. Continental breakfast was an extra 10 euros ahead and with the selection on offer We thought was good value for money. A 10 minute walk from our accommodation took us through the town centre of Auray down a steep hill to the port of Saint Goustain where we found plenty of alfresco eating and drinking venues and at night lit up was beautiful I would say a place for everyone to enjoy but with the water side of things children must be kept an eye on. Forgot to mention the Hotel offers the use of an outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi with an optional steam room at an extra cost.
Situated in a quiet residential street, behind walls and in the midst of a nice garden, Les Clos felt like a lovely haven. All the rooms (we had a peek in most) are thoughtfully decorated, with very nice bathrooms. Even though the rooms are fairly small, at least our room (facing south) had a good closet and some drawers for storage. Bed was good. The pool and the separate pool house where breakfast (very nice one with various bakery products and fruit) was served created a unique, boutique hotel -like feeling. The hostess was super friendly. It's about 15 minute walk to the center of Auray, and about 20-25 minutes walk to st. Goustan side, a beautiful spot on the river and offering a few nice restaurants.
We stayed here to explore Carnac (Megaliths) and the beautiful surrounding area - do not miss St Goustan! Secure parking behind automatic gates. Breakfast is in a separate room, nicely decorated, and adjacent to the pool. The room was good and the shower modern. There is no A/C. Breakfast was fine, although there are no cereals or cooked options. It is good for a stopover or a couple of days. Based on our 7 weeks experience on the road of various types of accommodation the finishing touches are missing (A/C, no drinking water in the room, tea and coffee only available in the breakfast room ( and no milk) no pool towels, no map or advice proffered on local restaurants - a case of seek and find !) These are small issues and do not detract but the price charged is premium and so they ought to be part of the package. …
Good choice for our stay in the region. Located in a residential area but within easy walking distance of the downtown (7 minutes) and just a little further to the port. Exit to the left when leaving the Clos, continue straight to the church and the continue downhill to the port. Five rooms on the second floor of the property. Breakfast room in a separate building. Parking behind a closed gate.
