Great place to stay in very central Cluny Close to Abbey and lots of restaurants. Staff in the hotel where very helpful with all of our query and information on local area help make our stay. Breakfast was excellent French style buffet. Private parking in centre of town a must book when booking stay.
In the very centre of Cluny, the hotel is right by the Abbey. We stayed one night on our way from Zürich to Bordeaux. Room was large and comfy, reception very welcoming and there is a nice Bistro 50 away across the square. The little garden at the centre of the hotel is gorgeous. Thoroughly recommended
The hotel receptionist was so welcoming and helpful. The room was very pleasant if a little dark with an attractive big bathroom with bidet. The loo was off the bathroom in its own cubicle. No lift but only one flight of stairs.Breakfast very acceptable with eggs available on request. Excellent location in town. Would not hesitate to stay there again as the atmosphere of the hotel was so pleasant.
We select his hotel just by chance and we were really pleased. It is simple, clean, friendly, in a wonderful environment. The tenants are really nice and engaging. From our room we could enjoy the view on the abbaye. We would definitely come back
This hotel is actually built inside what was then the abbaye. In terms of location, can't get any better. For the rest, it is "ok". Clean, people very warm and friendly but standard of the room and bath room just minimal.
This was our second stay in this wonderful hotel in the charming and historic town of Cluny. The great location and the wonderfully welcoming proprietors make this somewhere we leave always looking forward to a return visit. The breakfast room is enchanting and the area is well worth a visit for anyone interested in wine or the history of this wonderful region. The only point of concern is that all the rooms require climbing steps to reach, and that may present a problem for some. That aside, this is a wonderful hotel in a splendid area to visit.
We spend two weeks every June in the Cluny area so we know and love the town. When we head further south in September we try and spend one night here as a stopover on our way back (and to stock up on wine). Cluny is just 20 minutes from Junction 29 on the A6 so it is very handy and the Hôtel de Bourgogne, although in the town centre, is easy to find. The hotel is full of charm and creaky floorboards but the rooms are light and airy and everything is spotless. The owners are welcoming and helpful and put on a splendid breakfast. Do try and get a table by a window which will give you views of the archaeological site, the abbey and the square. Secure parking is available but there is free parking in the square other than on Friday nights prior to market day. The hotel no longer has a restaurant but there are several good places at which to eat within a few minutes walk of the hotel. We shall continue to stop here on our journeys back from the south.…
We stayed here for two nights . It is a typically French hotel with dated decor but quirky and clean. Bedding was crisp and fresh and we had a lovely view over the Abbey. Breakfast was served in the lovely little garden. Excellent croissants and homemade jams along with the usual spread. There's parking spaces in the large cool barn (a real bonus when you get in the car the next day! ) but you need to book as there are limited spaces. Cluny is a lovely little town with lots of history and whilst we were there the French National show jumping trials were going on ...the town also has strong horse connections with a display team in residence ...so perfect if you have a horse mad child with you. There a good restaurant opposite the hotel plus others dotted around town. Great place to stay for a day or two.…
A delightful B & B hotel in the heart of Cluny. A deceptively large building with many quirky, but nice bedrooms, breakfast is taken in a sunny room overlooking the square served by friendly staff. Secure parking is available. The owners Michel and Nathalie are charming and speak good English. No evening meals are available in the hotel, but there are some excellent restaurants and bars within a very short walk.
Stayed (regrettably) only one night. Greeted upon arrival by a young man who was cordial, knowledgeable, and thorough in providing a complete orientation to the hotel, including parking (10 Euros). Rooms were spacious, bedding good, and with large beautifully modern bathrooms. The hotel is located on the Place de la Abbeye, perhaps 40 meters from the entrance. Our rooms had full views of the spectacular iconic transept tower. Breakfast (fairly priced) was served in their attractive breakfast room (or in the garden, in better weather). The breakfast included extensive choices and was presented -- how can I put this? -- lovingly . It included a number of homemade items, and all were presented with pride and showed a genuine affection for their guests. I wish we could have stayed in this warm, inviting environment longer. They deserve your visit.…
