We visited this lovely hotel in December 2019 and stayed there till the 2 of January. Starting from the minute we arrived we could feel the warm hospitality and friendly service. The rooms are very nicely done and the whole architecture of the place blends so evenly and with great respect to the environment. The breakfast was very good . The food in the bar excellent and the New Year’s Eve dinner was very nice with nice Greek live music. The staff starting from the cleaning lady , the bell boy , the reception people and the waiters were so kind and friendly. There are no negative things about this place which I will strongly recommend and surely return for another visit. Forgot to mention the spa and the treatments which are good and reasonably priced.

This recently constructed hotel provides a singular experience, built just beyond the outskirts of the village of Mystras, situated beneath the slopes of the wondrous UNESCO world heritage site of the same name.

Envision a collection of two-story, stone bungalows connected by footpaths passing between mature olive trees, more recently planted pomegranate trees, and lovely flowers. The scent in the air is intoxicating.

The grounds are meticulously kept, and contain an herb garden a short distance from one of the pools. The pathways are well-lit in the evening, in the shadows of the welcome coolness of the nearby foothills of the Taygetus mountains.

We stayed twice in the month of August, once for a couple of nights, and again for three more nights a week later (changing our itinerary and canceling the reservation of the other hotel we had originally planned to stay at).

The staff, most of whom are locals to the region, were exceptionally congenial. Their hospitality seemed to me warm and heartfelt, and they genuinely appeared to enjoy their employment here.

The breakfast buffet was nicely varied, with locally produced baked goods and confections. The quality of the more standard fare, such as the eggs and other breakfast items, was a cut above other, larger hotels.

The Mystras Grand Palace is in harmony with its environment and the history of the area, and is a very special place to stay. I look forward to returning, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stood there for 5 nights in the begining of June. The welcome was genuinely nice from the very moment we parked the car on the parking lot and the doorman came to welcome us and kindly offered to take care of our luggage. Every step of the check-in was carried out with the strictest respect for all the necessary Covid-related measures.
Following a warm welcome from the reception, we were accompanied to our room. The room was as expected, spotless clean, neatly and nicely decorated. The bedding is also wonderfully comfortable.
We enjoyed the politeness and care of all the staff from the waiters to the housekeepers, not forgetting the chefs, who would come out of the kitchen either at breakfast or at dinner to enquire about the quality of the cuisine and be certain of our satisfaction with the various and exquisite dishes. The Chef takes pride in preparing dishes elaborated with mostly local products and this does not reduce the creativityat all. Well done!
Two outside pools with plenty of space and many sunbeds. We didn’t use the tennis courts, but they were perfectly maintained and we saw many people using them.
We did enjoy the Karam Spa (Covid rules applying here too), the sauna and hammam, but also massages and for these latter we wish to express our warmest thanks to Ms Ghianna for her excellent advice and discharge of the treatments.
Overall, this was a very pleasant surprise to have found this Jewwl of the Luxury hotel industry

Arrived having booked on Expedia and despite a partially filled hotel we were allocated a room at the back next to a petrol station; I guess that’s what you get booking through some one else but why not try and wow the guests. My main complaint is they advertise them selves as a 5 star hotel and its 2023 and you CANNOT flush toilet paper down the toilet and instead put it in a bucket. Wake up Greece its 2023 and this is not acceptable.

All in all a wonderful hotel, where the location and the restaurant stand out.

However 1: During the booking process we were not informed that the indoor pool, Jaccuzzi and spa facilities had been outsourced to another company and therefore its usage was subject to a significant additional charge. Our complaint was handled professionally though and we were in the end allowed to use the Jaccuzzi for an hour per day at no cost. Just be aware of this when making any booking!

However 2: The weakest point of this hotel is the bar staff. Not only lack some of them even basic command of the english language, but twice we had to wait for more than 30 minutes to receive our pre-dinner drinks.

The Mystras Grand (and Mystras) is worth detouring for! The pools are excellent (fresh water and salt water), with plenty of plush sunbeds. It's a beautiful setting and the cocktails were amazing, easily the best we had in Greece. They aren't using Covid to cut corners like other hotels (the gym and sauna are open as usual), but are still very thorough with their procedures (anti bac gel, temperature testing). The free bikes were a nice touch and the receptionist was incredibly helpful in recommending routes. The employees are a credit to the hotel, they really are wonderful. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also great (sadly I didn't take pictures of the whole thing), tons of choice and copious! The quality was high and we couldn't even finish it.

We stayed in this hotel (unfortunately) only one night to visit Mystras.
We expected a mid range hotel and were just extremely positively impressed by this property.
Extremely friendly staff at reception, pool, bar, restaurant and breakfast buffet. Excellent à la carte menu with good local dishes prepared and presented in a very modern way. Excellent support and wine recommendations from the restaurant team especially the head waiter who took the time to discuss the details of the large wine list.
Exceptionnal breakfast buffet considering the COVID pandemic which is used by many other locations to cut costs and limit the choice and service.
Nice pools.
Great price/quality ratio.
Highly recommended, not only for visiting Mystras but also for exploring the whole region including the Mania area. We just regret not having used this hotel as our base for the 4 days in the area.

From the moment we sent the inquiry email looking to plan our wedding anniversary, we received nothing less than a 5 star treatment. The hotel manager Mr. Tsangaris personally handled the booking due to it’s special nature and made sure that everything was beautifully executed. He assisted us with choosing several activities to create a wholesome experience in order to make the most out of our stay and the occasion. Hence, this experience started prior to our arrival, which made us even more excited to live it!
Upon arrival, the serene environment is promising you a calm and sophisticated atmosphere complimented by the staff’s warm-hearted attendance.
It is remarkable how they have managed the perfect ratio of professionalism and friendliness, which results to high elevated luxury service.
All the employees did their best to accommodate us and there was a sensation that they were celebrating with us, from the heart. We enjoyed to share our happiness that way, felt like it was multiplied! Christos the Captain of the Restaurant stole our heart, Marios the F&B was so caring and attending, all the ladies from the pool bar so delightful, every single employee was smiling and willing. We are so very grateful to all of them.

Our experience climaxed with an exceptional memory-creating private dinner, with a custom menu (colourful and delicious) and exclusive service, the perfect ending to a marvellous weekend. The Chef and his team created unique flavours matching a unique occasion.

Truly, the management and the staff are the real stars, the essence and the spirit of the hotel.

We sure will be choosing Mystras Palace for many relaxed holidays and special occasions in the future!

Till we meet again!

We both wanted to visit the ruins and hike in the area but were also looking for a little rest after the rush of Athens, the Mystras Grand Palace was perfect. Only a few years old yet carefully blended into the ancient olive grove on the property and echoing the architecture of Mystras, this is the perfect combination of new and old. The property is set up with little duplex cottages with sitting areas or balconies set among the olive trees. The grounds are very pretty and so peaceful. Comfortable beds, delicious food, and a staff that went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating! They seemed to really care that we were well taken care of and satisfied. We spent two nights here and would have happily added a third. After an excellent breakfast we were the first ones on the ruins and were delighted to come back and cool our feet in the chilly pool just as the tour buses started to roll in at lunchtime. Hiking in the area was spectacular though be warned that an “easy” hike here means a narrow trail with loose rocks hanging over a gorge. No guardrails and very steep drops so not for those who fear heights or have any mobility issues. That said one of the loveliest hikes I have ever done. The resort does offer bikes so you can also pedal around the olive groves or to the town of Mystras but have at least one dinner at the resort as the food was better there than the restaurants in town. Only regret was not trying the spa.

What makes this resort special, apart from the uplifting view of the Mystras site and the Parori gorge are the staff. You are all so kind, well educated, fresh and able to help. Such an asset for the resort.
Letting us book in early due to our ferry to Gythio being brought forward was a great support. The beds are very comfy but the pillows are very high so we'll bring our own next time.
Breakfast was enjoyable with a good choice and the selection of wines in the restaurant was excellent.
The treatment in the spa was very good too.

Would be good if something in the indoor spa could be included with the room charge. Also will be good when kettles are allowed in the rooms again. (Removed for covid standards).
Thank you - our stay was a wonderful relaxing end to our trip to Kythira.
