My husband and I booked a week at La Casella in Fucille through our RCI time share as part of a 3 week trip across mid and northern Italy. In general we were really disappointed with the "resort". Of the five hotels we stayed at, this was the worst. Pros: - It is beautiful! The grounds are very rustic and...

It is a secured place, literally off the beaten path. Well the path is a well beaten unpaved road which opens into an experience of fields, hills, foliage, tranquility, and wonderful service. The rusticity is startling at first, and the accommodations are modest. We were booked up the hill in the terrace units. The walk down and up is really...

This is NOT a fancy resort... think "adult summer camp" and you will have a fairly good idea what to expect. The grounds are rustic and beautiful- very lush and very extensive. All surrounding roads are gravel so bring tennis shoes. There is a large unheated pool, spa (I didn't use it so can't comment) and horse paddock/stables for riding....

Although the resort is in a beautiful location, the 6 km drive that takes you there from the main roads is absolutely awful. There are huge potholes and rocks on the road. There's is no cellphone reception or wifi in the rooms. The basic rooms do not have tv, fridge or a landline phone. So if you have a medical...

There was a lot of good and bad with this place. The good: it's beautiful; the people are generally nice (staff and other guests); it builds a comraderie because you eat together at the halfboard; the food it pretty good. The bad: it's in the boons - to the point it's hard to get anywhere (and the roads in and...

You have to survive the road before you realise the resort is worth the ride! There are 2 bad roads in - don't take the one from Ficulle its dangerous! Go in from Fabro Scala and its a long rough ride but arrives at beautiful countryside with lovely buildings. Our 1 bedroom was a mile from the center but was...

We were 1 of 2 couples there for a week and had our own chef and the run of the place. We had 4 course meals with wine included every night. The spa was lovely but there was an extra fee for use. The roads leading in and out were unpaved and treacherous in bad weather.

It's said there are travelers and tourists - for a traveler this is the place in Umbria to unpack, settle-in and explore! For the tourist, stay away - you'll miss your 24/7 connectivity, convenience store shopping and crowded restaurants. Read all the reviews before you go as they're fair - then, decide for yourself. Arrival is indeed a bit of...

The resort recommend 8 routes from this hotel including Rome, Florence, Siena and Assis. I completed all routes nearby including Orvieto, Montepulciano, Todi, Montefalco, and many small towns in Chianti: Greve, Radda, Gaiole and Castellina. This resort is good choice if you want to visit Umbria and Tuscany. Food and wine in these 2 region is great. The 5 course...

This was the third leg of our vacation in Italy. We had done a guided tour of Italy out of Rome prior to coming here. We very much enjoyed how relaxing and out of the way this resort is from the hustle and bustle. If you are looking for many activities, shopping, tours, etc. This is probably the wrong place...
