#2 of 5 Speciality lodging in Porreres
Finca Son Roig was a former farm and livestock unit in Porreres. Today is our "small rural-hotel", completely restored on 2005, honoring its rustic style and character. It is a paradisiacal place located in the middle of the island, surrounded by green fields, red poppies and aromatic orange and lemon trees, a place where you can disconnect and relax. The outside area features a swimming pool and a large terrace where you can enjoy summer afternoons or evenings at pleasant temperatures. If you are looking for complete relax, you can just take a sit and read a book, next to the fireplace. For those guests who like being on the move while on vacation, here are some activities that we recommend: horse riding, cycling, trekking, golf and water sport activities (both about 20 minutes distance to the Finca). "Local art-markets" or "Local wine Cellar" in Porreres (closest Village to the Finca) These are just a few options that you can try and get to know people and their typical

Having stayed in various finca hotels (10+) in Mallorca, I think this is our favourite. The boss Miguel is incredibly welcoming and professional. The rooms are large and comfy, the pool area very relaxing but also good for kids. Defo returning.

This was our second time here and it really is a bit special. Only 14 rooms but the ones we stayed in were very spacious, clean and comfortable with great rain showers and private terrace and of course lovely cool air con. The salt water pool is great and as the hotel is small it is never crowded or busy. Miguel sets the tone for the place with his friendly attentiveness. He insisted on staying up to greet us at 4 in the morning when our flight was delayed and his cherry liquor is a bit special as well! The restaurant is my idea of perfect. Good ingredients simply cooked without being made over elaborate or too rich. The set menu changes daily and is reassuringly small to maintain quality, so there was no need to try out the a la carte menu although it too looked tempting. The service was great with nothing being too much trouble for the wonderful Kathe. I should have mentioned that you can enjoy an aperitif looking out over the lovely rolling countryside whilst the hens roam nearby. Breakfasts are also great and again the wonderful Alesandra is very efficient and friendly. Porreres itself has nothing much to detain you for long but Palma is only 40 minutes away and Soller, Sineu, Arta and various beaches are all an easy drive away. There was a range of guests, young. old and families, and a good mix of nationalities but probably more suited to the more mature perhaps. I'm struggling to think of any negatatives - maybe tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. We love it. Thank you Miguel and team

Dear John, We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to leave such a lovely review of our hotel and facilites on TripAdvisor after your most recent holiday with us. It was our pleasure to welcome you once again and we are delighted to know that your second visit has been just as special as your first. We appreciate you highlighting aspects such as our spacious and comfortable accommodation with its modern amenities like the rain shower, for example, and we are glad to see by reading your comments that our staff have been friendly and attentive at all times. Lastly, but by no means least, our chefs will be over the moon to hear your remark on their cuisine - 'The restaurant is my idea of perfect'. They use, as you have mentioned, only the finest, in season, fresh ingredients to prepare quality dishes which allow for a fusion of international and local flavours to satisfy even the most discerning of diners. In short, there can be no better reward for us than finding out we have once again surpassed expectation on all levels and we sincerely hope we will have the chance to welcome you again very soon at your second home in Mallorca. Our very best regards, Miguel Ángel Carrasco and all the team at Finca Son Roig

Finca Son Roig is absolutely stunning. The building and surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful and quiet. A home from home. The staff are all so welcoming and kind. We had a beautiful suite room with a large terrace overlooking the grounds and pool. Breakfast was great, the best freshly squeezed orange juice! We also paid a little extra for half board, which was well worth it and so glad we did!! Every night you would get a 3 course meal, homemade food from local produce! You would get the menu in the morning and pick out of a choice of two dishes for each course. We loved this and looked forward to dinner each night and were never disappointed. The pool is fabulous and relaxing. Everything is well kept and very clean. The nearest town is Porerres which is a sleepy town with a small square, few restaurants, church, small supermarket. It’s about a 12 min drive from this finca. We didn’t really go into it, only to go to the supermarket and drive through, but looked nice. You will need to rent a car to get to the finca and to be able to travel around. We went on the boat trip advertised at the hotel - Illa Bona, was a great trip and would also recommend. €70 for 4 hours in a stunning Mallorcan boat, with drinks and a light but tasty lunch. The sea was a stunning blue and warm!! I’d have no hesitation in recommending this place, we loved it and I can’t wait to come back!!

We stayed here two nights for a birthday treat. The location is very peaceful, some 2km from the nearest town. Accommodation was comfortable but not luxurious. We ate in the restaurant during our stay there and the cuisine was very good. The staff were really friendly and helpful, my problem came when I tried to check in at 3.30pm. There was no one around, and to make matters worse I could not find anyone to serve me a drink. In fact I had to go back out to the town to buy some water, very hot day. Eventually a cleaner was able to find our keys. Positives are location, food, and tranquility. My opinion to improve guest stay is please please put some drinks in the minibar, at least some water. When the manager knows guests are arriving, make some arrangements to greet them. First impressions are so important for a good stay.
