Travellers' Choice
The ELBA LANZAROTE ROYAL VILLAGE RESORT, located on the magical island of Lanzarote, a Biosphere Reserve, is a complete holiday complex inspired by the culture of the Canary Islands, reflected in its architecture of a typical Lanzarote village town, with its painted shiny white walls adorned with volcanic rock, cobbled streets, lampposts and traditional garden benches which are harmoniously brought together within a stunning oasis of subtropical gardens, pools and fountains. The most easterly of the Canary Islands, it is recognized for its large number of volcanoes which stretch across the island. Submarine and lunar landscapes, clear waters, dry earth and palm tree oasis. It is a symbol of the harmony between man and nature. Without doubt a land of contrasts. Playa Dorada, one of the best beaches of Playa Blanca is only 5 minutes away from the hotel.

Having stayed in a number of Tui Platinum standard hotels before we knew what level of comfort and standard to expect. This wasn't the case in some aspects of our stay this time. COVID safety This was spot on. Reminders for guests to wear masks indoors; one way systems clearly marked and hand sanitizer stations throught the hotel buildings. They had it sorted. Was very reassuring. Food Buffet breakfast had a good range of hot and cold dishes. No complaints here Evening meal however was another thing. Whilst the quality of the produce was good from around day 6 I personally found the range boring and found it difficult to find something to eat. Also the hotels interation of dishes was sometimes to be desired. A dish labeled sweet and sour pork was unlike any dish of this name I've had before. It was brown in colour and had very few vegetables in it. I also found no pineapple. A la carte restaurant - La Nonna Italian. Again I found this experience disappointing. Why? The menu. Being labelled a la carte I expected some authentic dishes. Whilst around 3/4 would come under this having 5 types of pasta and 5 different sauces to have with said pasta was just a sit down version of what was available next door in the buffet. Also the salad bar was in dire need of refilling again limiting your choice. Being a platinum hotel I expected a more varied menu rather than the one currently being provided. Room - The beds were very comfortable and our request for extra pillows was met. However here come the buts: 1) Kettle in our room was disgusting. Neither of us needed to use it thankfully hence not bringing this to the hotels attention. The bottom of it was brown. 2) Safe - we paid €4 per day to use this. Worth every cent to ensure our passports etc were safe. However we had to contact reception twice as it would not lock on each occasion. The second time the the maintenance man said it had a fault . He got it working again. Bathroom - we've never had a river in our hotel until we stayed in this one. After having a shower water spills from the very wide ledge at the side of the bath onto the floor and into the main room . To avoid this happening we found if we angled the shower to the opposite wall and hunkered in this corner it did limit the amount of water spilling onto the floor. This added to the quite wide ledge when getting out of the bath proved to be scary at times as neither of us wanted to slip and injure ourselves. It looks like others had used the towel rail to aid getting out of the shower as on the 4th day I notice this was loose. The hotel may want to review the slope of the tiling at the side of the bath and angle it inwards to aid drainage. Our bath also made strange clunking noise when stepping into it. It seemed stable so we didn't raise this with the hotel. Towels - our complaint here is two fold: 1) The maid left us without towels one day. A call to reception sorted this within a couple of hours but this should not have happened. 2) In a Platinum standard hotel is it acceptable to have holes in the bath towels supplied? I've never had this until this holiday. Not even in a 3 star hotel. Would I visit here again? No way

The Elba is a great hotel. Food was excellent. The staff were super friendly and helpful, kids club was fab and the room was excellent. I would’ve given the Elba 5 stars but the big issue was that the weather was sunny and 21 degrees but the pools weren’t heated enough. My toddler went in the kids pool once for two minutes and came out shivering and wouldn’t go back in. If the weather was more like 25/26 degrees the pool temp might’ve been okay but I felt that one of our main activities wasn’t possible. When it’s cooler weather the hotel really should heat the pools properly at a 4 star hotel.

From moment one we felt welcome here. The lady at the front desk ( Nathalia) checked us inn and made ure we had everything we could need for our stay. my father in law can't walk so far and she made sure we had a room that was close to the main area. The food was realy good and the hotel in general was verry clean and well maintained

This hotel is great for people with mobility issues. I spend two weeks at the Elba Lanzarote. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was okay, but sometimes not warm enough. I spoke to the public relations manager and she said that they are in the process of upgrading the food warmers. So hopefully, this issue should be solved soon. I loved the layout of the hotel and the lovingly maintained gardens. I can recommend the Elba Lanzarote.

On the surface a 4 star but closer inspection shows a 3 star at best. Half the staff are great and very friendly but are let down by the ones that clearly don’t want to be their. Whilst I was there I not having the greatest time I read other tripadvisor reviews (too late, should’ve read them before I booked) it shows the CEO given his usual generic response and having stayed there he clearly doesn’t act upon anything which shows his lack of respect for his guests. The hotel looks great but the experience leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Basic food, (dirty unwashed cutlery too) basic entertainment, basic staff (with the exception of a few good apples) and no attention to detail, even the lifeguards were always on their phones and at one point a song featuring and frequently repeating “ Fu*k you, you Hoe!” was playing on the loud pool speakers where children play
