Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Access for back of beach, Marina Rubicon and centre of Playa Blanca. Quality of the food is a hit and miss. The spa facilities are amazing. Had issue with the toilet, got it fix within 15min. The room are great and was clean everyday. Evening entertainment was good and the waiters for serving drinks were chatter and funny. Came back in on our last evening and found a lovely surprise, a selection of mini desserts as a thank you from Dreams for choosing their hotel.
We arrived at 1030, great check in and told to use the facilities and the preferred lounge. Called at 1130 to say room was ready. Preferred room was great with everything we could wish for. Great toiletries, coffee machine and minibar all replenished each day. Room was kept spotless by Maria. We had a lovely view over main pool and sea. No problem getting sun beds each day by any of the pools. Food in the World Cafe and Sabor was great with plenty of choice daily. Tried the Grill restaurant one evening, but felt rushed and disappointed with menu. Waiting and bar staff excellent with special mention to Reyes and Pedro. Entertainment was good especially the female singer and 3 tenors. Great location, lovely walk to Rubicon Marina to the left and to the right Playa Blanca with bars and restaurants along the way and a beach just outside the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at Dreams and will definitely return.…
Just want to say how amazing this hotel is, food is great, drinks are great. The hotel is so clean and modern. I want to give a special mention to Estefania Carlos at Sea Legs!! 5 star service, so friendly and attentive, her drinks are amazing and the presentation is the best!!! Will definitely be returning.
We arrived a few days ago to celebrate my wife’s birthday, the hotel kindly up graded us to a bigger room. Our balcony overlooks the Hotel Entrance and has the sun all afternoon. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, shops bars and restaurants within a 10/15 min stroll. We are here Half Board, so can’t comment on lunches. Lots of choice for breakfast, all you need for a Full English. Also a good choice of fresh fruits, cold meats, cheese, breads and pastries Eggs, omelettes cooked to order Dinner in the same Buffet restaurant as breakfast. Wonderful salad bar and a good choice of desserts / ice cream Always a choice of half a dozen hot fish or meat dishes, with various veg sides. Always meat or fish cooked to order; chicken, pork, lamb, beef and local fish fillets. The meat and fish were not cooked together as stated in a previous review. Last night there were spit roast chickens and the night before a huge roast leg of pork. There are also pizza and pasta , but not cooked to order. Evening entertainment has been “entertaining” We are not All Inclusive so did not drink much in the Hotel, drinks much cheaper elsewhere. Would we come here again? Yes.…
We requested an adapted room which was allocated but toilet only had one rail on the left and was very low .eventually a toilet raiser was hired & a second one to take to the pool area toilets .had visited hotel previously and it had proper disabled loos that had been removed . Management disagreed . No where had two rails.!!My husband often had to come into the loo to help me up and I returned with a strained rotator cuff on my left arm - all down to not having enough support. Still having physio !
Booked this after reading the reviews seeing complaints about the food and I honestly thought that there was no way food in a 5 star hotel could be bad. I felt that those complaining were just being picky. This was a special holiday for our silver wedding and hubbys 60th birthday. We are carers for our disabled son and we hadn't been away without him since 2005, so we really were looking forward to it. I am also recovering from cancer. We needed somewhere comfortable to rest and celebrate quietly. We wanted a lovely room, with heated pool, Balinese beds and nice food and drink. So, we booked Dreams "unlimited luxury" in the "preferred club" and, I have to say, paid a lot more than we have done in the past for 3 of us! It is not a cheap hotel. We arrived, checked in and it got off to a good start with refreshing towels and a glass of cava. We went to our room. it was ok, but wouldn't say it was "luxury" We went to the "preferred lounge" and I had a fanta and hubby had diet coke. There were wraps and cake.... some kind of salad but nothing was labelled, so had to guess what was in the wraps/salad. We checked out the sea legs pool, but couldn't use it because it was after 3pm and the towel guy was gone. Never mind, we were looking forward to dinner. We went to dinner early. Tried to check out the Italian. It was closed. Sabor was closed (and did not open at all when we were there) The Asian was empty but I have a chilli allergy and no one could tell me if I could eat anything, they just smiled, shrugged and said "oh... maybe this is not suitable" So, we went to the "World Buffet" and by now, we were starving. Hubby is a vegetarian. So many things not labelled and when there were labels, they were alongside the wrong food. The only HOT vegetarian food for my husband available was kids pizza! Kids Pizza, for a 60 year old vegetarian?! Really? Remember, this is a FIVE STAR hotel. World Buffet is basically a salad bar. There were "cooking stations" with someone cooking meat and fish. I ordered "lamb" it was a tiny piece and the blood spilled out at went all over the place. I asked for it to be cooked more, it was still running with blood. While I stood waiting, there was a constant stream of guests returning to say their chicken was raw in the middle/meat not cooked and someone remarked that they cooked meat and fish on the same grill! I honestly couldn't believe the lack of choice. I had lettuce, cucumber and a slice of cheese!! Trying to get a drink was impossible. I wondered what the waiters were doing running around. They certainly weren't serving drinks. They were however clearing plates of uneaten food! This was definitely not the "unlimited luxury" we paid for. So many people were complaining, and one gentleman came over to me and said "It doesn't get better, its like this every night!" He had mobility issues and wasn't able to walk into town to hunt for a decent restaurant. I was devastated. Here we were, celebrating together after 22 years on our own without our kids and my hubby was eating kids pizza for dinner! I took photos of my lamb "dinner" and went straight to reception. The guy at reception actually told me to put a bad review on trip advisor. He also said that they had so many complaints about the food but management were not listening. We went back to the preferred lounge and had a slice of cake and 2 soft drinks. I could not believe it. We spoke to other guests in the lounge and they all said the food was very poor. One lady said she had been there two weeks and complained every single day! The next day was hubbys 60th. Breakfast was ok. Daniel was so lovely and did his best. Again, some items cooked to order- sounds great, but with one person cooking at the omelette station for example, by the time the omelette was cook, everything else was cold. Things weren't laid out properly, and after a few days we got used to having to hunt for everything. Whenever Daniel was off, the tea/coffee wasn't brought to you, you had to go looking for it. We ate out for lunch We thought we couldn't possibly go wrong at the Italian for hubbys birthday dinner. Well, the menu was poor and the portions were absolutely tiny. The worst lasagne I've ever had. Hubby had pizza (again) and an aubergine starter. By 7.30 we were out the restaurant (which is actually the same place the preferred club breakfast is held) certainly "fast food" What now? We walked to the entertainment area and it was full of football fans watching football chanting and cheering. Back to the preferred lounge for more cake and fanta! We were still hungry so had to go out and find somewhere to eat. We gave up on the food after that. Paid for "unlimited luxury" to eat pizza, cake and drink Fanta! I wondered why some people thought the food was great! The menus had lots of burgers, club sandwiches and pizza to eat. So many here have said "food was great" How can they say that when every single person we spoke to said the opposite? Many more people than I know think burgers, pizza and chips are "great" If we had brought our son, he loves Pizza, but we dont. So, I can only conclude that the pizza, burgers and chips on offer was what these people preferred to eat. We also noticed that this "luxury 5 star hotel" was really dirty. The sofas in the corridors were absolutely filthy. Huge stains everywhere. In the entertainment area, the chairs and sofas were also quite dirty. Corners not clean, sticky tables not cleaned. Just yuck. Lots of botch job finishings everywhere, shoddy plasterwork. The "preferred pool" was supposedly heated, but it was very cold. No bar service to your lounger, you had to queue. By the way... the pool terrace tiles at the preferred pool were PAINTED cream. PAINTED over the old flooring and it was cracking and peeling off leaving flakes of paint all over your feet! They have just done a cheap makeover, painted walls everywhere white and painted the pool terrace as a quick cheap fix! The Balinese beds were 50 euros a day. We had one on our last day, the "canapes" were horrible. Despite knowing one of us was a vegetarian and the other doesn't eat fish and has a chilli allergy- guess what? fish and meat were served. So basic but so typical. They just do not care. Even in preferred club EVERYTHING was an extra charge. One "free" visit to the spa? There was a pool and a jacuzzi The spa treatments were so expensive. Way more than I have ever seen at any spa- anywhere. I didn't see anyone in there. If you want to go use the pool its 12 euros each. We spent most of our time out looking for food. I have never been to an all inclusive hotel and been so hungry. The night before we left, "guest services" called and told us there was a "vegetarian menu" a bit late in the day once our holiday was over! I was a travel agent for over 30 years. I sold the Hesperia many times. I never once had a complaint. I honestly thought it had been upgraded to a 5 star hotel I am annoyed at myself for ignoring the reviews about the food. I wouldn't sell this hotel to my worst enemy. So, in conclusion, we were ripped off. It completely ruined our silver wedding and birthday. All we wanted was a nice hotel, to rest, eat well and drink a couple of cocktails. Do absolutely nothing and just have a lovely time. Instead, we paid a fortune to be hungry, walk around the resort looking for places to eat. We were shattered and paid so much to eat out. An absolute rip off. False Advertising. ALL of the staff know about the complaints re the food. The location of the hotel is good. But 5 star? Not a chance!! Not even a 4 star, it would struggle to get a 3 star, so Im giving it 2. Id give it a 1 but the location was nice and some of the staff did their very best given the circumstances. However, The management should be ashamed of themselves.…
This was our second visit our first since its upgrade, this is not a 5 star hotel, firstly how many 5 star hotels have no butter at breakfast and how many 5 star hotels boost 5 Al la carte restaurants but only use one and how many 5 star hotels have premium international drinks but serve cheaper alternatives and how many 5 star hotels boost a state of the art cafe serving coffee and cakes but never open They don't have enough staff but the staff that do work there are all hard working The food when hot was on the whole OK but 80% of the time it wasn't, the choices were poor and the show cooking consisted of kebabs and fajitas Service was a little disjointed due to there not being enough staff Rooms are clean and well equipped but ours was really dark with no sun at all, the shower was really good but the toilet was very cramped Infinity pool excellent with plenty of sunbeds and amazing view Would I go back... No... Would I recommend it yes on a bed and breakfast basis and for its location…
Stayed in preferred club, over looking pool, great room, plenty to do in hotel, coffee shop was great, Italian restaurant was nice staff were very friendly in there. Preferred pool with swim-up bar was great, cocktails there were brilliant. Food in buffets were also fine. Place is spotlessly clean, great location between marina and old town. Will definitely be back.
We were here on vacation in September 2022, so I'm writing a review with some distance. We were very satisfied, the hotel is beautiful, has a great location close to the beach and city center, excellent (5!!) pools, great restaurants, well-equipped gym, very pleasant staff, lots of greenery and beautiful view of Fuerteventura, where we spent last year's vacation, had a nostalgic effect. ... in fact everything exceeded our expectations. Normally I wouldn't mention the negatives because the hotel is really amazing and probably the only one I would go back again for a seaside holiday. However the hotel presents itself as 5 stars and was not exactly cheap, so I will also write some tips for improvement. The reconstruction could have been done more comprehensively (for example corridors) and more thoroughly with a higher quality of work. In September, when the hotel was certainly not full, the employees did not have much time. The wait for a drinks at the bars was really long, which was unpleasantly. It was also seen that the employees are working to their maximum and need help. However in the second half of the stay the staff and its services were improved, I guess after a few complaints. I would also appreciate some refreshments and a snack by the pool, chips on request is a bit insufficient for 5 stars. Finally I think the pools could be heated, the water was really cold. But I have to write again that the hotel and Lanzorate impressed us and I firmly believe that I will return here. The island is really amazing and you can't see everything even in 3 days with a car. Special thanks to the employee named Anass, who made our stay in the restaurant really pleasant, we liked him very much. A really great professional, moreover a very very nice person, never annoying, always very pleasant with perfect communication skills. Just like our friend. However he was not the only one, the hotel has really high-quality employees. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.…
Just back from a relaxing week at Dreams Playa Dorada in Lanzarote. The hotel is in a perfect location - right opposite a lovely sandy beach and half way between the port and the marina. The atmosphere in the hotel is really chilled and the staff are very helpful, particularly Daniel who greeted us every morning at breakfast with a wonderful smile! It is definitely worth upgrading to the Preferred Club as this gives you access to an amazing infinity pool with a swim up bar and a panoramic view of the bay. Plus the Preferred Club lounge is open all day for snacks, coffee and cava! This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we shall return. Tip - Preferred Club bed and breakfast
