Am staying here currently, it is perfectly located on the Beach, which is beautiful and well worth visiting, the room is spacious and very clean, overlooking a pool. It is also very well priced. I can’t fault the hotel or the property and the food at breakfast and dinner is top class. It should be a 5 star! So why not?....... We checked in last night and were informed by the gruff person on reception that the bar/restaurant was open only between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm , which we accepted! We went to the bar at 6.50 pm to have a beer before dinner and were sent back to our room, because it wasn’t open yet, despite the fact that the guy on reception could have walked 6 feet to give us a beer! We subsequently had a lovely dinner and were then given our bill coming up to the 9.00 pm ‘hotel curfew’ and were being ushered out of the restaurant. Suddenly as we were leaving, A new table of 3 appeared . I went to the guy at reception and queried why they were being served after the supposed ‘hotel curfew’ I was told that it was because that it was the manager (director) of the hotel and his team ! I said I was a paying guest at the hotel and queried why they were being served after me..... I was repeatedly told that it was because he was the manager of the hotel!!!!! It seems very strange that the management of the hotel ranks itself above paying guests ! I hope that the hotel manager and his friends enjoyed the empty restaurant, after he cleared the restaurant of the paying guests ! Despite the management and the one obnoxious person on reception , I am extending my stay in this property. There was a very nice lady at the reception this morning and we had a very nice breakfast! 5 star property, but ranked 4 star until there is a change of management attitude! …
Hemos tenido una muy mal experiencia en el hotel. Para desayunar hemos tenido que esperar 45 minutos. El camarero Marc nos ha sentado en una mesa sucia y en ningún momento vino a limpiarla hasta nos atendió su compañera. La gente que vino después ya terminaron de desayunar. En general habían muy pocas mesas ocupadas y no tiene sentido que literalmente nos estaban ignorando tanto tiempo. No recomiendo para nada desayunar en el hotel si no queréis empezar el día de mal humor We have had a very bad experience at the hotel. In order to have breakfast we had to wait for 45 minutes. The waiter Marc has seated us at a dirty table and at no time did he come to clean it until his colleague attended us. People who came later have already finished breakfast and left. Overall, there were very few tables occupied and it literally made no sense that we were being ignored for so long. I do not recommend having breakfast at the hotel at all if you do not want to start your day in a bad mood…
We stayed at the donna hotel for 5 nights for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was modern,clean and all staff were very efficient and helpful. Our room was fantastic very spacious and the view was fantastic. Little extras including a coffee machine,walk in shower and super king bed. I was a little frustrated with letting the husband book when I realised how far we were from Barcelona around 1.5 hour on a bus which the bus stop is outside the hotel or 35min in a taxi but it was completely worth it just for the hotel and view. After a busy day sightseeing it was nice to unwind. Breakfast was great plenty to choose from. Lots of places to eat and a great little Mexican bar at the beach. Thank you for a fantastic stay
Dear dONNA Hotel, you have been my absolute favorite hotel for quite some time, I love staying here. Even more than in the Gavà Mar. But after my last stay I will probably change my mind. pro: - awesome location w/ ocean view - contemporary room design. Love it. - not to big of a hotel - feels like family owned cons - hotel feels worn down - needed to change room because door was falling apart and we could not lock it - rooms need fresh painting! - trash can in bathroom disgusting - no change after talking on this to hotel staff - vent in shower constantly switching on and off, all night long - talking on this to the hotel staff did not change anything - room doors closing noise / sound way to loud, so when other guests leave their rooms, you can’t sleep anymore - breakfast is served in a separate building / external room. Way to COLD there and entire setup there definitely feels like a compromise solution. Even the plates are cold as ice. Just one day out of 6 we where fortunate and breakfast was served in main building, as I know it from the past. This by it’s own is a good reason not to stay again. - breakfast is served till 10:00am, just 2 minutes after 10 staff opens doors to outside - room even colder within seconds - to carry out food from buffet …
Great Location and with some upgrades could earn the 4 star rating. Bed was comfy, parking garage convenient. The owners cheaped out on the rooms. The dark blue paint was all marked up, should be replaced with tile. Glass shower behind bed had a sexy feel but the floor and walls kind of yucky. Put in tile and a normal shower head and a couple of spray jets and it would be luxurious. Plus, no place to set shampoo except floor-gross. The cabinets were IKEA grade and showing wear. The flooring was trendy but stained and kind of gross. Please tell owners to drop some money into this property to make necessary upgrades.
