The hotel is an amazing experience upon arrival until departure. We got an wonderful room with views to the sunrise and sunset. The staff is highly professional and very friendly. Nadine is also a great host and a wonderful wine connoisseur with always a good advice. The covid restrictions did not prevent us to have a great gastronomy experience. The one Michelin star is not enough to pay tribute to the dishes prepared by Jef. Explosions of flavors with a little bit of Texel island in all courses. Definitely a place to come back

When visiting Bij Jef, don’t just have dinner. Have an overnight stay in their hotel as well. Hire some bicycles during the day to explore the island. Dinner is superb. Dishes are well-balanced and tasteful. Culinary creativity at its best. Service is very professional yet friendly and warm. We had a wonderful night in their modern equipped hotel room. Check in was friendly and swift. Breakfast is another culinary experience. If you have a few days to spare: this experience you cannot miss.

I was enjoying a midweek arrangement with my wife. The menues created by Jef were absolutely top of the scale. Each course puts a smile on your face. To be honest I have eaten at restaurants which hold a michelin star which are significantly below Jefs level, and I have seen 2 stars which hardly match this. The focus on local products, their quality and preparation is impressiv. Another huge asset is the very professional staff. The rare combination of highly competent people, which however stay authentic at all times, creating a relaxed atmosphere. A big compliment also to Nadine the somelier authority and attentive host. The pairing wine arrengement is a must. While obviously the focus is on food with Bij Jef also rooms are nice design and well looked after. We sure come back!

Just went back from a few days at Texel. Off course at Bij Jef. Again, as we try to visit this excellent hotel with even better restaurant each year. In one word: Exceptional! The name of the menu we had the second night: ‘Local meets Cosmopolitan’ says it all. The menu is packed with local ingredients and presented in a cosmopolitan way. Think of Texel’s lamb, Waddenzee oysters, langoustines, North Sea crab and prawns. Almost forgot to mention the amuses: Five taste-bombs, who really get you in the mood and make you long for the dinner to come. The food is accompanied by exquisite wines presented by Nadine, Jef’s wife and companion. Refined, elegant and innovative. Wines you don’t find at your local wine shop. Unbelievable Jef Schuur ‘only’ has one Michelin Star... Go there!

We visited for a special evening with guest chefs and music. The welcome, service, food, and ambience were all simply perfect. Although the price is high, we felt that it still offered superb value for money, such was the quality of cooking. The perfect place for a special occasion
