Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff are friendly , especially the housekeeper. Made me feel welcome and my room was cleaned everyday. Made lots of friends and there was a kitchen to cook meals which other hostels failed to provide.SOBO have a strict washing up policy . Just a warning- make sure you wash up or you loose your... Brighton Youth Hostel by the Sea is a great place to stay if you want a cheap place to sleep for a few nights. You can either pay for a large shared room, or for a private room for you and a few pals. We stayed in a private room for three, which featured a bunk bed with a double... More

Myself and 5 friends stayed here for a haloween event in Brighton for 1 night. On arrival receptionist was really rude and miserable was told on the phone we was allowed earlier check in and then when we got there she said 'we don't promise anything' although another worker at the hostel said the room was ready. Spacious room although... More

Stayed for 4-5 nights. It's a nice friendly place and good value for the money. The rooms are decent and what you'd expect. Bathrooms a little small but functional. Kitchen area is useful but we didn't really end up using it much. There is also a nice outdoor area with benches for if you want to chill a little. Regarding... More

couldn't find any hotels, premier inns etc, all fully booked, last call i made was 'sobo'. It was VERY MISLEAD on stating that it was a hostel, if we had of known we wouldn't have gone to it. We was by the Pier at the time, ringing round places last minute to stop somewhere, and finally got through to sobo... More

Nice location close to the beach and hove station. It is a very healthy half an hour walk away from the nightlife hub of Brighton, which is ideal if you wanna sober up or just reflect on the night. Also, climbing out from the middle beds is always a good morning exercise, but I would rather recommend sleeping on the... More

There is nothing about this place that i can say is good. No security for your belongings, mixed male female rooms not female only, bedding smelly and unclean, decor not as it looks on the website very unkept and dirty. Breakfast stale food and plastic crockery and utensils, plus not what it tells you. Wouldn't leave a animal in it.... More

Check in: Staff were polite and helpful when i telephoned. Check in is up to 12 midnight. Room: I stayed in a double room which was ok, clean and tidy. Only issue was mattress was a bit knackered & no milk for the tea & coffee which must have been forgotten. Access to building and rooms is via door codes.... More

arrived in a rainy evening, the staff (young lady that evening) was polite, friendly and service conscious. The hostel itself offers good value for the price, rooms and beds are ok, had not objections about cleanness in rooms, bathroom or kitchen.

I am so thankful that I only had to stay one night. I slept in a 16 room dorm which was fine, but what made it terrible was the bed sheets were dirty, the storage spaces by each bed were all filled up and one of them smelled like something had died inside. The breakfast choices were very limited; toast,... More
