We arrived at the Bow Street Runner at midday and our room was ready. the room was small but very very comfy and bed was large, attention to detail was brilliant. Room was very clean and surprisingly quiet to say it was above the bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the regulars in the pub made us...

The BSR is exactly what it says on the website and provides very good value in the area. Granted space is limited (varying between rooms) but the bed is large and comfortable and all possible mod cons are provided. Breakfast is simple but satisfactory. Sue and her team are very friendly and helpful.

We loved this place! The pub is small, old fashioned (in a good way!) , and the staff and owners were so welcoming and made us feel like we were regulars! Our room was stylish, charming and with comfortable beds. We liked the fact that breakfast was already served when we arrived in our room! The tiny little fridge contained...

Just got back from a three day stay and for comfort, location, fantastic people and the most friendly locals in the bar then you will go a long way to beat this place. It will be the first place I will look at booking when we return. Hopefully soon. Would like to thank the staff and the locals for such...

Very clean and tidy The owner was very accommodating letting us drop our bags off early. He was friendly and welcoming. The room was small but ideal. We only had 1 night at the pub so was perfect for us. It's about 10 minutes walk into Brighton which was great. Even though the room was over a pub we didn't...

Just off the busy Western Road in Hove, with all the shops and restaurants you could need, plus an excellent bus service, this small pub has some of the best rooms we have stayed in, and that has been quite a few. The decor is modern, the bed really comfy and the en-suite shower room is great. Sue and the...

Little locals pub down a side street, nice enough but we were a bit dubious - but absolutely no need to be. Room really nicely done, couldn't fault the presentation, all done out really well especially the bathroom. Ok the room was small ish but absolutely fine for a night or three. Particularly liked the generous breakfast selection: fresh croissants,...

My partner and I visited Brighton for a couple of days and couldn't have asked for a better base for us to stay. We felt very welcome and the location is great! Also the bed is extremely comfortable. Thumbs up from the both of us.

We have spent 2 nights at the Bow street runner. Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. Sue and all her staff are lovely and made us feel so very welcome as did all the pub regulars. A lovely place to stay and we will definitely be back next year.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A small traditional pub in a side street of Hove just off of the main thoroughfare that links Brighton and Hove, the pub has no food, no Sky TV, no loud music and no gaming machines, just a pub, BLISS! Originally called the Station Inn the earliest record as a pub was 1867 and was originally the Brunswick Police and Fire Station hence the name. There is a stark difference between the old pub and the modern guest rooms. I took the pub over in 2010 and converted the living accommodation to 3 en-suite rooms. I am helped by a great team, our manager Warren, Gervase, Maggie, Kevin and Simon in the bar and Wendy with the rooms. They all make our guests welcome as do our pub customers and Beau (our dog). Unfortunately, due to the age and nature of the property, access for some people may be difficult. If you have any special needs please give us a call to find out if we are able to accommodate you. ... more   less
