Rooms immaculate, compact but every detail well thought out. Free wifi, Central location very friendly owners/staff. Much better inside than out. Good value for Brighton area. Parking limited but we were lucky and using a permit from hotel, £6 , we were able to park outside

Here is a room above a pub, and is a great experience. The only problem if you have bags is that the pub is in a quiet street, and depending on what time you arrive initial parking is a problem. You get your key and shown to the room. We had a room on the first foor. It had all...

Stayed here for 2 nights - the room was spotless and comfortable. Sue and John were very welcoming and happy to offer some local tips along with providing the required street parking permits which they added to the bill. Definitely recommend.

One night stay. Was a bit concerned it being located above the pub but I needn't have worried. Pleasantly presented room with tomorrow's d-i-y breakfast and a mini-fridge with fresh milk to hand. The bar downstairs was friendly and warm. Good internet connection and a good night's sleep. Until the next morning when the beer barrels were delivered before my...

Small friendly pub with very clean well presented rooms. Continental breakfast in your room ready for when you wake up. The only down side was the fridge in the room was incredibly noisy as was the toilet flush! Close enough to Brighton to walk in but far enough away to be quiet. Top tip - parking on the street is...

It's a proper pub and good beer with all that that entails. Great hosts and the other customers are just as friendly. No food though, not even a bag of crisps and because there is a huge choice of restaurants locally, it doesn't matter. There are only 3 rooms available and the stairs could be a challenge if you have...

Sue and Mike were delightful - room spotless, well priced and close to everything. Great bar - John was lovely too. Thoroughly recommend. Very helpful on where to go to eat, and felt we were welcomed as friends. So much better than a stuffy five star. Loads of character.

We got such a warm welcome in this lovely pub. Our room was clean, comfortable and well designed with tea and coffee making made easy with a mini fridge and kettle, and croissants ready for breakfast. There's everything you need, but because the rooms are small I think it's good for a short stay. Location is ideal, between Hove Lawns...

Booked at the last minute for a business trip and glad I did, centrally located down a side street and the rooms are above a cracking local. Compact rooms but nicely decorated with thoughtful touches, parking could be a problem in high season but a welcome change from the soulless chains or dilapidated independents that Brighon seems to specialise in.

Brilliant accommodation, very clean and comfy. Staff, especially John, so helpful and welcoming-as were the locals who made us feel so at home and provided lots of helpful information and advice on where to visit and eat. Would recommend this establishment to any visitors to Brighton-and are definitely going back-miss it already.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A small traditional pub in a side street of Hove just off of the main thoroughfare that links Brighton and Hove, the pub has no food, no Sky TV, no loud music and no gaming machines, just a pub, BLISS! Originally called the Station Inn the earliest record as a pub was 1867 and was originally the Brunswick Police and Fire Station hence the name. There is a stark difference between the old pub and the modern guest rooms. I took the pub over in 2010 and converted the living accommodation to 3 en-suite rooms. I am helped by a great team, our manager Warren, Gervase, Maggie, Kevin and Simon in the bar and Wendy with the rooms. They all make our guests welcome as do our pub customers and Beau (our dog). Unfortunately, due to the age and nature of the property, access for some people may be difficult. If you have any special needs please give us a call to find out if we are able to accommodate you. ... more   less
