Very Nice comfortable hotel with very friendly owner, Nice beautifull historically decorated rooms, food you really have to try very tasty. In the sitting Area you can enjoy a Nice drink by the fireplace. Only this room could be a bit updated

Definitely lives up to the reputation. Tasty fresh wholesome food that was great quality and full of freshness. We were not guest but got a booking for dinner. We were told when booking it’s a limited set menu and they catered for any dietary requirements which was also reassuring. The menu is all locally sourced from Hannon meat, Abernathy butter...

This is the perfect retreat. Period surroundings with modern comforts. Superb food and the most customer centred service we have ever experienced. The food is out of this world. Local produce cooked to perfection. Probably the best steak we have ever eaten. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed one magical night at New Forge House. We stayed in the very roomy Hanna Room with a four poster bed. The dinner had excellent flavours and is well worth booking. The hotel has lovely mature grounds. Ask the owner John and Lou for some bread to feed the chicken, which was great fun. Would recommend without question.

Exactly what I needed after a busy day of meetings. Coffee on arrival, nice and welcoming, easy going and flexible. Rooms very spacious and clean, bathroom too. Well recommend for business or would even come back as a couple for sure. Macaroons and shortbread with coffee were a right touch.

Stayed for a weekend in November, and I couldn't have been happier. The staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived and they only got better from there. Dinner was superb, cooked to perfection by John. And the homemade bread was delicious. Our room was elegant with some really tasteful furniture pieces and arrived a bathroom bigger than some...

We visited Newforge House in May 2016 as part of a Good Food Ireland Tour. As big foodies we thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional food created by owner and Chef John Mathers and the craft beer pairings were an eye opener! John and Louise are very welcoming and we loved wandering around their beautiful garden where they grow they own ingredients...

A lovely old house, set in it's own gardens away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Peaceful and relaxing, the hosts are warm and engaging and the staff polite and considerate. There are only about half a dozen large rooms all with excellent en suite and facilities. This is just the 'home from home' that most of us...

This is a fantastic place with amazing food. We do a lot of mini breaks and have sought out boutique and luxury overnighters many times over the last 20 years. I'm so glad to see something on our own doorstep which can match something like The Witchery in Edinburgh or an upmarket Cotswold country retreat. Nice touches like full size...

Absolutely no detail was overlooked at this beautiful manor home tucked away inside a charming Irish village. It was by far the best place we stayed during our 8 days in Ireland. I loved sitting in their library and having drinks by the fire, walking the grounds and seeing the chickens and the gardens, and then enjoying one of the...
