We had a delightful overnight stay with our good friends. John warmly welcomed us on arrival to his charming home, offering us tea, delicious shortbread and gluten free biscuits for our friend. The rooms were very comfortable, bathrooms spacious and pristine, with beautiful views of the garden. Dinner and breakfast was delicious with use of local ingredients. John is an...

Happened upon this incredible place on a work trip last month. Service from John and his wife was exceptional as is the food. The 2 page Gin menu was a bonus for me! Although was away with work it made being away from home a little better. Wouldn't hesitate to return personally and have no doubt I will. We've already...

I stayed here recently near the end of a 3-week solo journey throughout Ireland. This was my favorite accommodation. My room was beautifully decorated with a wonderful view out the front, and with an enormous bathroom that had both a shower and free-standing tub. It also met my high standards of cleanliness. John, the owner, couldn't have been nicer, and...

This was our third visit to Newforge House and I can't wait to return. John and his staff are simply amazing. From the time you open the front door you will be warmly welcomed and looked after. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone wants to make sure your stay is special. There are simply not enough superlatives to describe...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Newforge House. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The property is beautiful, although in the country, it is not far from Belfast. The rooms were lovely, the food exceptional, and as icing on the cake, you have John the owner who is as wonderful as his house.

My wife and I stayed here for one night on our trip. We were supposed to stay for 2 while they didn't refund us, John gave us a coupon for another night that never expires so when we return to Ireland one day we can visit again. Wonderful relaxing bed and breakfast. The rooms are lovely and well decorated. But...

We were only able to book for one night in the busy summer, so we will return. Beautifully-restored but very comfortable and unpretentiously elegant spaces. Huge bath and shower. Tasty, locally-sourced food. Chef-owner and other staff could not have been more friendly. Ireland is famous for warm welcomes, but Newforge House is among the best we have encountered.

We recently stayed here for two nights to start off our honeymoon in Ireland. It was absolutely fantastic! John was so welcoming and kind, and the accommodations were just beautiful. The house was lovely, the gardens were immaculate, and the food was to die for! Of the five places we stayed in Ireland, this was our favorite, and we'll do...

Myself and my wife stayed here recently on a two night package with dinner and breakfast included. We had a fantastic time, the food was lovely and John and his team were a delight. The house itself is wonderful, our bedroom was fantastic and even had a pillow menu. I couldn't recommend staying here more highly.

Passionate owners who've turned John's family home into a gem of a country house hotel. Warm atmosphere, great staff, food which is like top notch French provincial cooking, that is the best of local ingredients prepared simply but perfectly, empathetic restoration of a fine Georgian house, incredible gin and excellent wine list, inspired cheese board and superb breakfasts. Not to...
