Beautiful, clean, tidy and comfortable room plus all the added touches (free wifi, lots of towels, hairdryer, etc). Our hosts (Beatrice and George) were delightful, welcoming and informative. The house is located next to the ocean - scenic and soul healing. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious. The laying hens offered entertainment as well as the eggs for breakfast!

George & Beatrice were polite, friendly hosts. The home is an older, well kept family home in West Pubnico. The room with the ensuite was very comfortable & clean. Our breakfast was excellent, substantial and freshly made. The B&B is close to several good restaurants , the W. Pubnico Golf Course and the fishing wharf with its large fleet of fishing vessels tied up as the lobster season was over.

We took the Ferry from Bar Harbor and arrived at Yarmouth at 7:30pm local time. It started raining heavily, so we were fortunate to find Pubnico in the dark (make sure you have a good map or working Google Maps). Argyle by the Sea is about 30 minutes from the ferry terminal, so plan your dinner in advance (or stop off at a grocery store in Yarmouth for something to eat). Beatrice was very welcoming when we arrived, and in the morning she and George served a good, basic breakfast with eggs and bacon cooked to order. Our room was comfortable, although we did share a bathroom with two other couples. As it was the end of a long, wet day, that did not bother us too much, for we collapsed into bed that night. The morning dawned sunny, and our hosts recommended a good first day itinerary. The hikes in southwest Nova Scotia are excellent.…

Beatrice and George were very accommodating! Gorgeous Bed and Breakfast with a phenomenal view! We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary! Breakfast was amazing, fresh free range eggs, homemade bread and preserves topped with a side of bacon!! Beatrice and George were always available to answer any questions. When we arrived Beatrice made our dinner reservation at the Red Cap family restaurant, food was delicious! All around this is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend checking out The Argyle by the Sea! We loved our stay and this made our trip a very memorable one! We loved everything about The Argyle by the Sea! Lianne and Jeff Welland Ontario August 2022

Beatrice and George are great hosts. If you have any questions, problems, or needs-they are there to help. Their home is very welcoming, and the breakfast of fresh eggs, bacon, freshly baked bread (a heavenly aroma as you fall asleep) are delicious and filling. Seeing the ducks in the pond, the chickens in the yard and the hummingbird at the window really added to the authentic experience of coming home. Since this was an information gathering trip for a future home purchase, Beatrice went out of her way to help me look for great homes to check out. I’ll be back—and next time I’ll bring my husband as well—he’ll love it, too!

George & Beatrice were welcoming, friendly and very helpful with suggestions for our stay in the area. The room we had was clean and comfortable, but unfortunately I was kept awake by a guest snoring in another room. Also, they only have one room with its own bathroom; the other two share one. We had one that had the shared bathroom and it wasn't an ideal situation for us. Being there only one night, though, we coped. We had a delicious hot breakfast included which was basic and filling.

My husband and I stayed at this B&B one evening. From the moment we pulled in driveway we felt welcome. Beatrice and George are the most kind and gracious couple. We really enjoyed chatting with them in their family room, they really open up their home to you. Their home overlooks the water and they have ducks and guinea hens that frequent their property. Our room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast they provided us with was very filling and delicious. I think the best homemade bread and jam I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend a stay!

I was part of a trio of cyclists who rolled into this bed and breakfast in the late afternoon to a very warm Beatrice welcome. We hand washed our clothes and used their clothes line to get our road clothes dry. George was wonderful in accommodating our desire to not have to walk to a restaurant in that he drove us to and from, even giving us a tour of the local highlights - fishing fleet, wind farm etc. We even stopped for ice creams at the local dairy bar. Beatrice cooked us a wonderfully nourishing breakfast to ensure we were prepared for the athletic day ahead. Great value for money; and what price can you put on great hospitality and clean, comfy rooms. Highly recommend this venue!

We too arrived late off the ferry but Beatrice was waiting. Loved the area. The fractured coastline to us so beautiful we could have stayed longer. Our hosts were a wealth of local knowledge. Accommodation and breakfast met our expectations. Thank you George and Beatrice!!
