George & Beatrice were polite, friendly hosts. The home is an older, well kept family home in West Pubnico. The room with the ensuite was very comfortable & clean. Our breakfast was excellent, substantial and freshly made.
The B&B is close to several good restaurants , the W. Pubnico Golf Course and the fishing wharf with its large fleet of fishing vessels tied up as the lobster season was over.

We took the Ferry from Bar Harbor and arrived at Yarmouth at 7:30pm local time. It started raining heavily, so we were fortunate to find Pubnico in the dark (make sure you have a good map or working Google Maps). Argyle by the Sea is about 30 minutes from the ferry terminal, so plan your dinner in advance (or stop off at a grocery store in Yarmouth for something to eat). Beatrice was very welcoming when we arrived, and in the morning she and George served a good, basic breakfast with eggs and bacon cooked to order. Our room was comfortable, although we did share a bathroom with two other couples. As it was the end of a long, wet day, that did not bother us too much, for we collapsed into bed that night. The morning dawned sunny, and our hosts recommended a good first day itinerary. The hikes in southwest Nova Scotia are excellent.

Beatrice and George are great hosts. If you have any questions, problems, or needs-they are there to help. Their home is very welcoming, and the breakfast of fresh eggs, bacon, freshly baked bread (a heavenly aroma as you fall asleep) are delicious and filling.
Seeing the ducks in the pond, the chickens in the yard and the hummingbird at the window really added to the authentic experience of coming home.
Since this was an information gathering trip for a future home purchase, Beatrice went out of her way to help me look for great homes to check out.
I’ll be back—and next time I’ll bring my husband as well—he’ll love it, too!

Beautiful, clean, tidy and comfortable room plus all the added touches (free wifi, lots of towels, hairdryer, etc). Our hosts (Beatrice and George) were delightful, welcoming and informative. The house is located next to the ocean - scenic and soul healing. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious. The laying hens offered entertainment as well as the eggs for breakfast!

George and Beatrice were most gracious and welcoming hosts. Our ensuite room was very comfortable, clean and home-like. George and Beatrice recommended two nearby restaurants so we had fine fish suppers at the Dennis Point Cafe and Restaurant. Fortunately for us, several very talented local musicians presented an outstanding performance at a local school that evening. We went with George and Beatrice. Breakfast was as good as the engaging conversation we had with them the next morning. Highly recommend Argyle By The Sea Bed and Breakfast.

This was our first trip down East and was not disappointed, having been previously told that people in Nova Scotia are friendly and welcoming George and Beatrice surpassed our expectations. From the time that we entered their front door we felt at home with the ease they welcomed us in. The wholesome and filling breakfast was a great way to start the day. When leaving we had a few hours to visit local attractions Beatrice suggested we visited the Acadian village and found it very informative and interesting . This is a great B&B and I would not hesitate to return if I am in the area again and would certainly recommend it to fellow travellers who are contemplating traveling in the area- Thanks George & Beatrice for letting us share your home our only regret is that we didn't stay longer

We stayed one night going down the east coast of Nova Scotia. We were welcomed at the door by Beatrice and the hospitality never ended. We were shown our room which was very adequate. We did share a bathroom but had no problems with other guests. In the evening we were invited to join them in the family room and enjoyed their company. In the morning we were fixed a very hearty and delicious breakfast--we were given the choice of what we wanted. We thought this was kind of unusual for a bed and breakfast. We will definitely return if we come back to the area. Thank you once again George and Beatrice.

Spectacular view from back porch. Beatrice very welcoming and accommodating. Unfortunately constant fog horn sound was disruptive all night. Bathroom door does not lock, despite turning the lock. Toilet didn't flush without some encouragement - shared bathroom. Surprised to have host enter our room late at night to ask about timing for breakfast.
Breakfast was satisfactory, and hosts joined us at the table.
