Classic motel with ample parking, clean simple rooms, with amenities (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Wi-Fi) to make you comfortable. There are Adirondack chairs outside to enjoy the quiet and salt air, though the view is limited. Friendly staff and a nice restaurant attached make this a good stay.

We have recently stayed at the the Red Cap Motel, it was excellent to say the least, this is a lovely family run Motel and Restaurant, the rooms were standard but extremely clean and updated, they had a wonderful A/C unit and the bathrooms were very beyond clean. The floors are laminate which is a nice change for people with allergies. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The Restaurant was also fantastic, the food was delicious. They have their own red seal chef and I can't say enough about it. I would highly recommend this if you are staying in or around West Pubnico

Came upon this quaint little motel on our visit to the Acadian shores. There isn't much in this area in the sense of "commercialism", so we took a chance a booked a room. We were pleasantly surprised !! The room was clean, spacious and modern. The people were friendly and pleasant and the restaurant was excellent. Had my first taste of rappie pie and their seafood chowder was the best I've ever eaten.
Our experience in Nova Scotia was a surprise all the way around. No major 4 or 6 lane interstates; quaint little villages every where you go; no highly commercialized tourist attractions. The whole trip was relaxing and slow, absorbing the history of our ancestors and immensely enjoying the local seafood and atmosphere. It was a surprise how much you could find to enjoy, and you weren't even close to Disneyworld !

This motel is attached to the Red Cap Restaurant, which I gave a 4 rating. Our room was decent enough in size, cleanliness and comfort. However, the window lock was broken off, making it impossible to secure the window (at ground level) , the bath towels were paper thin, and the small TV was an old cathode ray.

It was nice to have a small fridge in the room, handy when on a road trip.

The internet speed was rather slow, so be aware that uploading photos, etc. will take a little longer.

The Red Cap is a simple motel. It is very clean and the staff are friendly. The surrounding area is stunningly picturesque and the food at the Red Cap Diniing room is second to none in the area for sure.
We stayed two nights and will probably go back there again another year.

The Red Cap Motel is located on route 335 three miles south from route 103. As you approach the motel, there is a credit union on your right and you can begin to see the water on your left. The motel is right after the credit union. There are six units. The inside is much nicer than the outside.
The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The two armchairs were nice. We liked having the convenience of a refrigerator and a telephone in the room. We have only positive things to say about the room.

The Red Cap Restaurant is attached to the Red Cap Motel. We ate our dinners and breakfasts there. Everybody was very nice. In fact, the owner had a tabled reserved for us in the restaurant the Wednesday night we arrived. Every Wednesday night there is life music in the restaurant and the place is usually packed. If the owner had not reserved us a table, we might have had to drive several miles to find a place to eat.

We had a most enjoyable two days in the Pubnicos. Our stay was certainly enhanced by staying and eating at the Red Cap. Because the streets had sidewalks, we were able to take a long walk our first night there. We hope to return.

The rooms were basic but very clean. I had a quiet and restful sleep. There are not many places to eat in West Pubnico, but the Red Cap Motel turned out to have a nice restaurant with tasty food. I would recommend the Red Cap for reasonably priced rooms and good food.

A wonderful, pleasant surprise. We expected a rundown motel and a typical mediocre motel restaurant. We found a decent room and a wonderful, simple restaurant.

There are two sections for the motel. The newer one I did not see. The older one (built perhaps in the late 40s!) has been well renovated, with new beds and laminate flooring. There is a full bathroon, including hair dryer. There was a desk, easy chair, good bed reading lights, satellite TV, etc.

The restaurant was the real surprise. It seems to be a popular spot for the local people too. French is the main language, but everyone here is fluent in English. I enjoyed the traditional Acadian Rappie pie. My husband had the haddock with the lobster sauce. This was amazing - as good as in many a fancy gourmet restaurant. There are also many other choices on the menu, including a selection for children and homemade desserts. Breakfast the next morning included all the help yourself coffee and toast you wanted, and typical breakfast fare, such as eggs and cereals. You could also get lobster scrambled eggs!

The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
