A nice cozy room with a spa tub, fireplace and room for the dogs. The bed was a little softer than we usually prefer but good. The weather was cool and damp (it was October), so the fireplace was a nice feature. We had booked this particularly because they allow dogs. The inn provided a dog bed, bowls, treats and...

Very difficult to find places of quality that are dog friendly! This is the place, if you want a couple nights away from the city with quality food like you find in Toronto, stay here. The chef knows her stuff, grilled calamari melted in your mouth and the breakfasts featured freshly baked croissants, scones and muffins plus fresh preserves. The...

As others have written, the rooms at the Windjammer Inn are fine, but not remarkable. Our washroom was across the hall. It's a bed and breakfast. BUT the food and service were exceptional. We had dinner and breakfast there. I had alerted them ahead of time that I would need gluten-free choices, and they bent over backwards to accommodate me...

Went to Port Stanley on a whim and checked out a number of spots. All were quaint and cozy, but as soon as we saw the carriage house we snapped it up. All the amenities were there and then some. Nothing left us wanting. And the the breakfast. Fresh fruit, fresh fish, fresh eggs and stone milled toast, Scones and...

If I would limit myself to reviewing the food, I would give it a 5+. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and all the meals were gorgeous. The freshly baked scones and pastries at breakfast were so worth the calories, as were the desserts. We loved the creme brulee and the hot molten chocolate cake with ice cream. They...

Went here for the first time on recommendation of family members who have been many times. We were not disappointed. We had a tremendous meal and an excellent waiter. The meal was beyond delicious and there was considerable variety despite a minimal menu. Everyth0ing tasted so fresh! The waiter was just wonderful. He is a very definite asset to the...

One first has to appreciate the bucolic pleasures of Elgin County in General and Port Stanley in particular. If you like great summer stock theater, historic trains, picturesque fishing harbors, fresh lake perch or pikeral, walks on the beach, great hiking trails, good cycling and neat little shops--this is your place.--And the best command post: The Windjammer Inn. Where to...

Set up brunch reservations for Superbowl Sunday, which turned out to be a good idea. The Windjammer is set in a century house, a little worse for the ware on the outside with a some what eclectic interior, but the food is wonderful! I ordered a pastry basket to start, which included several muffins, homemade and excellent. Along with that...

It's a very nice Bed & Breakfast within walking distance to the beach. It has two private cottages and then the main house. We stayed in the Seaton room which was very nice. It is very quiet and quaint. There is a sun room where you can sit and relaxed which is equipped with a fridge and coffee maker. There...

We spent two nights in the carriage house as part of an impromptu summer getaway. The furnishings of this room were very comfortable and there was little more that one could ask for to enjoy a relaxing short stay away from home. Perhaps the most striking aspect of our stay were the freshly prepared scrumptious breakfasts with special mention for...
