I stayed 2 nights at Hacienda Venecia during a recent trip through Colombia. It would have been so much nicer if the weather had been kinder but they can't be held responsible for the very soggy conditions. That aside the first thing that needs to be said is that the Hacienda provides 3 different types of accommodation in 3 separate...

The hostel at Hacienda Venecia is wonderful. The view is incredible and the staff is super helpful. When I called in advance, they told me to bring my own fruits/vegetables, which was helpful because they only carry pasta and pasta sauce in their store. The kitchen was really clean and the volunteers and people staying there were super friendly. The...

You have to go to some trouble to get here (especially if you're cycling like we were...) but that's something I can hardly imagine you'll regret. We stayed at the hostel for three nights in total - after planning for staying only one before we arrived. Very friendly staff, nice areas for relaxation / work, a hot shower and plenty...

We loved loved loved it here. We are a couple in our 30's and had an amazing couple days. The food was so tasty, which as a vegetarian was challenging at times in some parts of Colombia. The staff were freaking incredible. Monica at the reception was so down to earth, and she made our visit amazing. She went above...

I give 4 points because despite the fact it is good and interesting place they have a lot to improve I stayed in the hostel with my friend, but is also possible to camp with your own tent The breakfast was included (2 eggs, 2 pieces of bread, milk, butter, jam) but if you wake up later than 9 they...

We only stayed here one night to make it convenient to go on the 3-hour coffee tour the next morning. The coffee tour was very good, but I'm not reviewing that here. Keep in mind that if you book the Hacienda Venecia for lodging there are 3 separate properties, the high-end main house, the moderate priced guest house, and the...

Hello, Thank you for visiting Hacienda Venecia and for your comments. Firstly, we have recently installed high-speed wifi for all our guests to enjoy. Secondly, due to the remote and rural location of the guest house (in the middle of a coffee plantation), there are a couple of bugs around. However, as i'm sure you have noticed, rooms are cleaned...

We booked on line for pick-up from our hostel. They did not mention my hostel for pick-up and did not respond to e mail requests to confirm. I phoned the night before and received confirmation pick up would be at 8:30, not 9. The Tour was excellent. Maryori was engaging and knowledgeable. The grounds and surrounding area are gorgeous We...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hacienda Venecia is a coffee farm with a century's worth of experience in the cultivation, production, roasting, marketing and exporting of Colombian coffee. Due to climate changes, we are also expanding into growing and cultivating cacao where historically it wasn't possible. Along with offering coffee and cacao tours, we offer three types of accommodation, Main House, Guest House and Hostel, all which include unlimited coffee throughout your stay! Main House: The oldest building on the farm, which shows a traditional Antioquian colonisation architectural style. Enjoy our beautiful gardens, private pool, terrace, and game room. Rooms with private and shared bathrooms are available. Guest House: Traditionally where guests of the hacienda would be received, including coffee buyers and roasters before it opened its doors to tourism. A terrace with hammocks overlooks the pool and gardens full of fruit trees. Hostel: Transformed from an old coffee pickers' lodging, our hostel is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and paths amongst the coffee groves. This pretty corner of the Hacienda has a garden with fruit trees, an open kitchen, mini-market, patio, game area and camping space. Each bed has a large locker, bedside shelf, and small locker with a plug socket inside. All accommodations include complimentary breakfast. Traditional Colombian lunches and dinners are available for purchase. For more information on how to get here, please see our website. ... more   less
