We stayed here with our Habitat For Humanity Team and had a great experience. The roof terrace is beautiful and they served us dinner there a couple of times. The food overall was excellent. The location is central and we felt very safe staying here. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the daily service was great. We only wished the shower water pressure and temperature were a little better. All in all a great place to stay.

I came here for an event and received less than adequate treatment. Staff wasn’t welcoming and made us feel like we weren’t guests. The building is old and hasn’t been maintained. It seems there is no storage space since there was clutter on the first floor.

Stayed here for a week on a Habitat mission and while the room was adequate and clean, noise was a bit problem when trying to sleep. There is a wonderful rooftop patio with a beautiful view of the city and sunrises however, the wrought iron patio furniture scraping across the floor every time a sitter moved could be heard loudly in the rooms below. Team mates on one side of the hotel said the passing traffic all night was disturbing. It appears to be a local favorite for holding celebrations because there were 2 in the week we stayed here with the second playing loud music through speakers until midnight. The people employees, nice and friendly and the front desk speaks english. The breakfast was fine. Just beware your sleep may be short.

We stayed for a few nights in Santa Ana and had booked a room by telephone. We decided to stay a day longer, and that wasn´t a problem either. We got a nice room in the corner of the building with views onto the commercial places - and market - nearby. Wifi is included but the signal didn´t reach our room. Breakfast in included and is served at the restaurant apart from Sundays when there´s a buffet near the reception area. Coffee facilities in room, which we could appreciate. At arrival we got an invitation for a drink in the bar. The day we left, we could leave our luggage safely at the reception. Staff very friendly and willing to get us a taxi or to direct us to public transport. The market area is not the safest after dark, but the hotel is well guarded and staff can advise.

I traveled here with a mission's group for a week. The rooms are adequate, not fancy but clean. Breakfast is better than most American hotels. Daily a cook makes omelets to order with pancakes, potatoes, refried beans, fried bananas, pineapple, watermelon with juice and coffee. It is a block from the market. It is gated with security and quiet.

When we arrived to the room, it looked very clean but there was a minor thing that bothered me a bit, a strong smell coming from the bathroom. It turned out to be the shower curtain smelled like mildew a little overwhelming . It could be washed since it's cloth. Everything else was great! Nice beautiful hotel and friendly staff. Hotel is conveniently close to everything

The Hotel Sahara is away from the center of Santa Ana but has always been a charming place to stay. Its an older property without an elevator but the staff will take your bags up to the rooms if you like and this does away with the pulling and fussing up their very steep steps. (The staff is very attentive). This place rocks on Friday, Saturday and Sundays hosting sweet 15 parties, baby showers and some wedding receptions but the noise is gone by 11 p.m. It great people watching. The rooms are older but very clean. The bathrooms are spacious and airy. You are given a remote for your air conditioning and as Santa Ana lays in a depression between the mountains-you will need the air conditioning-it will get nice and cold. Wonderful, easily accessible rooftop with spectacular views of Colonial Santa Ana adds to the charm of this location. In the morning you can grab a coffee and slip up on the roof to be alone. Its a huge roof so even if there are several couples on the roof, you can find a spot to be solitary. With a small effort you can spot the four principal churches and the Cathedral which make up the Colonial cross that lays out Santa Ana. Breakfast was included in the modest cost ($54USD) of our room. There were eggs cooked to order, sausage, pancakes, platanos, fresh cheese, red beans, fresh fruit and juice and little rolls. The service was efficient and the short order cook pretty and charming. We were in Santa Ana to visit friends so we did not eat at the hotel but the menus looked good.
