Campo Bello is a boutique hotel and coffee farm located on Cerro Verde, part of the national park Los Volcanes, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Spectacular views on the property abound ranging from the iconic Izalco volcano to diverse flora and fauna including hummingbirds, toucans, and orchids. Walk through coffee groves, enjoy nature and the beautiful outdoors. Unique Igloos feature 2 simple rooms each, and a small living area. Hot showers. Small restaurant on the property. Tourism Police post at the entrance of the grounds, provides tours for visitors of the nearby volcanoes. Located at 1800 meters or about 6000 feet above sea level, the average temperature ranges between evening lows of 12 °C (54 °F) and noon highs of 19 °C (66 °F). For activities: Hike the Izalco and the Santa Ana volcanoes. The Izalco is young, perfectly conical and is said to have inspired the small volcano in Antoine de Saint-Exupery's book The Little Prince. The Santa Ana volcano being the tallest in El Salvador, boasts great views in all directions from the nearby Coatepeque lake all the way to the sea. Take a swim in volcanic crater lake Coatepeque, just a 30 min. drive.
My experience at Hotel Finca Campo Bello was one of the most beautiful two days I have ever had. Our igloo was spacious and clean, the entire staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help us, and the views were the most beautiful I have ever seen. We enjoyed relaxing on both viewing platforms, eating meals at the restaurant and with room service, and hiking on the trails around the hotel. This stay was worth it for the view alone, but the friendliness of staff and quality of stay made it even more worth it.

The Health Minister of El Salvador should revoke the license of this facility. The structures (“IGLOOS”) trap constant humidity leaving a permanent musty odor that the management addresses this overwhelming odor by heavily perfuming the room. There is an issue with the septic tanks as there is persistent odor of urine in the bathroom. All fixtures are loose. Finally, the “Ham and Cheese sandwich/fries”I had at the restaurant almost cost me my life with food poisoning. Finally, the condition of the single unpaved roads to and from this facility made it very difficult to leave.

Unpretentious lodge with breathtaking views. Clean and cozy, with the most spectacular surroundings of nature. A place to wind down and enjoy pure mountain air. Going for long hikes in the forest is a must. On a clear day one can see the Pacific Ocean and even volcanoes of Guatemala. MUST!!!

Me and another 4 people stayed at this place after a day of hiking on Vulcan Santa Ana. The view was breath taking and the sunset was incredible. It's quiet, lots of greens and if you're lucky to get one of the igloos near the edge, you can sit outside and enjoy the view to Vulcan Izalco. On a clear day, you can see Guatemala and the ocean. It's not fancy, but it has everything necessary: shower, toilet, bed. We were so exhausted and dirty, that we were content with what we had. We brought some drinks and food (this place does NOT have food to sell). There is also an outdoor BBQ grill available. The price was affordable and the view was priceless. If this place was a bit fancier or got a bit of more attention, it could have been even higher! Totally recommend it, but don't be picky - it's just like camping…
