I definitly recommend staying in this hostel, especially cause the People working in it are amazing. We took a daily tour to Volcan, lake and ruinas od San Andres with them and had the best time. If you are in Santa Ana that is must see. They were helpful with everything, spend their time searching for best option how we can continue our trip to Nicaragua and even drive us to bus terminal in San Salvador. That's something I'm not used to in hostels.. Hostel is really clean, you can use kitchen and you have common area for relaxing and hanging around. For me, the best!!!!!
Hostel Vital Yek's new location in front of the "Colegio Bautista" is modern, clean, quiet and central. It has a great vibe, complete and *Clean!!!!! kitchen, about 15-20 beds depending on the set-up, 2 indoor parking spots and a relaxing terrace. Carlos also will let you use his washing machine for a small fee... after months on the road hand-washing it is quite a treat. As he gets set-up he plans to introduce hot showers as well, not really necessary in the warm climate here but sometimes nice to get the grime off. He can connect you with some really unique tour experiences guided by locals. They took me out to a HOT river to jump off the waterfall! The best part of Vital Yek is that is is close to everything within and surrounding Santa Ana. Within Santa Ana it is walking distance from the town centre, great restaurants including the best pupuseria in the city just around the block. The bus station is about 6 blocks away and the "MetroCentro" is also about 6 blocks away (Shopping mall, but also where the busses from San Salvador stop). When you come to Santa Ana, make sure you have lots of time to spend here as you are within 1.5 hours from tons of amazing experiences be it visiting Tazumal Ruins, Juayua's Sunday Gastronomic festivals and beautiful water fall, the coffee plantations in the surrounding mountains, climbing the Santa Ana Volcano and jumping into the Coatapeque Lake... just to name a few.…
People are very friendly and rooms are clean ! Its a cheap place and close to the centre, If you want to go to Santa Ana and visit all around, if you are backpaker and want to meet local people, you should go there !
Vital Yek is the perfect choice if you need some rest. A great place to meet people, Culture and nightlife. The property is 3 blocks from the historic district of Santa Ana, surrounded by the best preserved architecture in El Salvador; and 30 minutes to the historic district of chalchuapa where the remaining bastions of culture and Mayan architecture are.
