Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting family in the area. To check in you have to go into the pub itself. Easy enough. We had room 11 which was on the first floor. A large room with ensuite shower room. Shower gel is provided and shampoo but if you want conditioner please bring this with you. Ample tea and coffee provided...

Spent two nights here in April 2016. Check in was at the bar and took a little longer than I would have liked but not a major problem. Room was clean and of a good size with everything you would expect. Shower was excellent with good stream of hot water. Slight problem encountered with the system of entry to the...

We have stayed here a few times now, this time we were late arriving and a young man kindly phoned to check we were still staying. The room was excellent, the breakfast next morning plentiful, and the staff always serve with a smile. Very hard to fault

We were coming back from Scotland so thought we would have one night in Newcastle on the way back home. We booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced. The Booking.com site suggested we got breakfast but this turned out to be continental breakfast in the booking confirmation. Generally the room was fine. It was quiet until a family arrived...

I tired when I arrived and just wanted to get an hour siesta at 5pm until I had to leave at 7pm. I arrived at the bar, the ladies said go down to check in at the other end of the bar, but didn't follow me. I was then watching her serving customer after customer and obviously I was getting...

We wanted a room, near a pub, for a couple of nights, and were about to book a Travel Inn when I thought I would check for a more authentic hostelry in the neighbourhood. The Snowy Owl looked the part, so on the strength of some good feedback I booked it. BTW, it was cheaper to book direct than via...

Stayed one night on business, nice little pub / restaurant. Bar staff welcoming and friendly, beer good. Rooms were "ok", but housekeeping could be a bit better, there were a few hairs in the shower, and the sink in room 12 was partially blocked and took ages to empty. Other than those relatively minor things, a nice little hotel. Wifi...
