We stopped here for B&B when travelling from Buckinghamshire to Lossiemouth (on the Moray coast). The hotel offers very comfortable rooms of a first class standard,& has the advantage of being pet friendly (we own a small dog).Food is excellent-whether you want a meal in the evening,or a very good breakfast. The host displays all the bluff friendliness that you would...

The staff here was so accommodating and friendly! The manager gave us a lift twice to the venue where our friends were getting married - so kind. The breakfast was very yummy and home cooked. The room was lovely with country style features and impeccably clean. I would recommend anybody to stay here.

The hosts fantastic, Joe was a really friendly host and nothing was to much trouble. Not sure of his wives name but she did a great breakfast, great Iris welcome on arrival. Nice atmosphere in the bar, in the middle of refurbishment.

We stayed here for a brief stop-over before the ferry across to Mull. It had lovely clean rooms, helpful and informative staff, rooms were quiet and comfortable, it was child-friendly, nice bar and a welcome brandy after a long journey(!), welcoming hosts and yummy breakfast. We also took a small, well-behaved dog.

The hotel was recommended by friends in the area and we stayed 5 nights. The hotel from the road is not much to look at but major refurbishment has taken place inside. If what you want are modern bedrooms and posh bathrooms in an old setting with lashings of powerfull hot water and lots of towels this is the place...

Yes its undergoing refurbishment. Yes the corridors, entrance and reception are a bit of a mess at present. The rooms however are excellent! Clean, bright and fresh. The food was great. Its pet friendly, with no extra charge for my dog. Once the work is completed this is going to be a lovely hotel. I'd certainly recommend it and will...

Perfectly located to escape the A74 for the night and break your journey. Unpretentious, comfortable, a blend of old and new. Admittedly from my room to the rear of the building you could hear the A74 quarter of a mile away but that quietened as the evening went on and did not disturb me. The freshly refurbished en-suite room was...

Very quiet despite only a couple of miles off the M6, i was put in room 9 with a superb shower room - serious mains pressure not an awful electric version dribble! it was a twin room ,with coffee, tea and Tv...

We were heading for Edinburgh and we were running late so my colleague suggested we stay at The Ecclefechan Hotel. The eccle what I asked? The Ecclefechan Hotel, I've stayed there 4 or 5 times and I like it, he replied. That'll do me so we crossed the border into Scotland and drove for a mile off of the motorway...
