We had a wonderful stay at Kenthurst! Heather and John were great hosts and very welcoming. Heather planned a few activities for us including the penguin viewing, which was the highlight of our Catlins experience. This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at. We stayed two nights and would recommend Kenthurst to all fellow travelers (and stay...

We had one night with Heather and John. When we left we felt we had been staying there for several days. We were made so welcome. The home is modern with views to the north. The gardens are a delight. It is a short walk to the beach and the pub. Every amenity was available. We had a good nights...

Had a wonderful stay with Heather and John. Lovely surroundings and breakfast. Heather's yoyos were exceptional. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating and Heather's suggestions on our travels through the Catlins were really spot on. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Heather and John were simply delightful. Their beautifully designed home sits up a short hill from the local beach and overlooks a gorgeous yard and gardens. The two guest suites and common breakfast room/reading room-lounge are on the ground level, making exit and entry with bags easy. Hosts live upstairs. Guest rooms are very well-appointed, very quiet and comfortable. The...

Better late than never! My husband and I stayed with Heather and John for Christmas Eve and Day. Their home is beautiful, they were the most fabulous hosts, even inviting us and the other couple staying to have Christmas dinner with them and family. We had a brilliant time. Heather's a brilliant cook, nothing was too much trouble, we were...

Last-minute booking and what a great time we had! John & Heather are very, very hospitable & warm owners running a beautiful B&B (2 very comfortable rooms). We traveled NZ twice (both for 3 weeks) and this was our favourite stay. The village is small and quiet (off season) but a definite must-do when visiting The Catlins. Can't wait to...

The by-the-way lodge in a wee little village on the ocean coast was lovely. We stayed for one night and gladly recommend it to all traveling through this part of New Zealand. Heather and John, the owners, strive hard to keep the guests happy. The room is well appointed with all the modern appliances with a separate eating and reading...

Perfect in every detail from the warm and friendly welcome to the gorgeous rooms, fabulous and generous breakfast and beautiful garden setting with rural and coastal views. A great base for exploring the Catlins. Make sure you visit the Nugget Point lighthouse.

The accommodation is comfortable, clean and has lots of hidden touches which surpassed my expectation, from the muffin and cup of tea on arrival, to the chocolates beside the bed, and all the tips of the area. The view from the back veranda was a full 180 degree view of the area. This is the best B&B that I have...

We stayed 2 nights at this very comfortable place & absolutely loved our time here. Nothing was too much trouble & Heather helped us plan our day around the tides so we could see as much as possible. Our fantastic hosts lent us a pair of excellent binoculars so we had a pair each for spotting the tiny yellow-eyed Penguins...
