We, my husband, my 18 yr old daughter and I stayed for 2 nights in a Park Motel Unit. Great spot right at the beach and stunning views. The unit was well equipped. A double bed in a separate bedroom and one in the main room where the kitchen is. The bed in the main room was very comfortable! The...

We stayed in the garden cottage which is more like a standalone cabin for 2 set back from the main road in its own green space. The cabin/ cottage was clean, quiet with all the facilities one needs for a stay at the beach. The bed was very comfortable and the hot water stayed constant temperature throughout the shower!

Having done a couple of tramps we chose Castlepoint as the finale knowing it would be quiet, peaceful and absolute beachfront. We elected to take the Motel units 3&4, at 160NZD a night per unit, which were pretty close to the beachfront (just over the road). Each had two bedrooms so we had plenty of space. Good laundry and bahroom...

Another great stay and made very welcome on arrival. We like this site for its location and being able to walk straight on to the beach. Facilities are well maintained and it's a great place to stay - well worth the effort getting there and you will be rewarded with some fabulous views once there.

I love this place. Service was quick and friendly, a map with how to get to the cabin was provided. The accommodation itself is basic, you bring your own duvet or sleeping bag. But I loved it and the view from our picnic table was incredible. The kettle wasn't working, so I rung and within 5 min I had a...

We stayed at Castlepoint Holiday Park over Waitangi weekend. We were in a Caravan. We had a beach side site with panoramic ocean views. We thought the price for our weekend was excellent. The park was nice and tidy and rubbish bins and recyclables were emptied regularly. The Managers were very friendly and helpful and looked after us well. We...

My partner and I came here for a kid free weekend. We rented on of the cabins, although on the small side it was perfect for the two of us. We were able to walk long the water front and went up to the lighthouse. Everything you need is in walking distance. Our only complaint would be the 50c 5...

Rude office staff - they weren't helpful at all and generally seemed really put out about having to be there. It's expensive considering facilities - on top of it being expensive you have to pay 50c per shower. The campsite is also super windy so don't expect to sleep if you're in a tent.

We arrived at the end of the day and were grateful to get one of the last tent sites. Shocked at paying $45! Very disappointed we weren't advised the occupants of our site were blown down the night before despite forecasts of more high winds. Spent a miserable night being battered. We were advised there were adjacent vacant powered sites...

Stayed in this campsite in our rental RV. We had a pitch which overlooked the ocean. The thing which stops it getting 5 stars is the hot water/shower system. They have a coin operated push button 5 minute shower. But it runs cold for the first minute at least.Staff very friendly and helpful. This is a wonderful location, with wonderful...

“Although the beach front sites are appealing, the wind swept nature of this site can be harsh. Sheltered sites at the rear are better.”
