Stayed here twice this winter for whale watching; once in January, once in February. Not the most modern, but very clean and friendly. Food was fantastic!! Danny is the best whale watching captain. Mamasita runs a great kitchen.

We had a master suite that had a king bed, twin bed and a couch. Good sleeping accommodations for our family of 5. It is in a great location to walk around and check out the little town. The staff was very friendly. The food was really really good but a bit expensive and takes a while to prepare... but...

Travelled on Business to Puerto San Carlos and stayed at Hotel Alcatraz. Simple but clean and nice Rooms and nice Hotel staff. Excellent Food from the Open kitchen Restaurant. Reasonable prices make this establishment a good choice.

Drove up to San Carlos on a whim to go see the whales, we arrived around 4pm and thought we would find a place easy enough to stay. Our 1st three choices (2 were booked and the other was nasty) so we found this on the main strip. Got a room with 2 queens and it was tidy and in...

Lodging options are limited in Puerto San Carlos. This is a classic Spanish building with everything off a walled in courtyard. Entry is through two massive doors into a tree shaded courtyard. Dinng is in the courtyard, rooms on the edge. There is nothing cookie cutter about this place. It has character.. The rooms are quite small, bed, night stand,...

We've visited San Carlos many times, but this was our first time at this hotel which was head and shoulders above what we were used too. Of course we were paying a lot more too, but it was worth it. However I do think we got the best room and at a discounted price as this was the slow season....

This hotel is all about the charming courtyard, with lush landscaping and outdoor seating. Our room was quite small. Good enought for a one-night whale watching stay.Compared to the other hotel in town, Alcatraz has the beautiful courtyard, while the other hotel has bigger rooms. Both hotels are good.

We needed to join a tour early in the morning starting in San Carlos the next day hence we had to stay in San Carlos for one night. There were not much options and we went for this hotel. The room is basic but spacious. The water was not very hot. The bed was comfortable and the blankets were good...

Four of us - plus my mother-in-law - stayed at the Alcatraz last weekend on a whale-watching excursion to San Carlos. I called earlier in the week to reserve two rooms and to arrange a boat trip to see the whales in Mag Bay. When we arrived late on Saturday afternoon, check-in was easy. The rooms were all set and...
