We normally stay at Wyeside but this place was a great find. 5-10 min walk into town, quiet, wifi(!), and barring a toilet or 2 that's it. We couldn't find a working tap, there are no showers (use the leisure centre), but it's friendly and cheap. Will be back :)

We spent a week in the camping pod at Gigrin. The pod is warm and has mains electricty, a TV and a kettle as well as a bed and amazingly... wifi!!. No cooking is allowed in the pod, which was fine on dry days but we had some pretty spectacular April showers which made cooking outside impossible. The mattress on...

We went to Gigrin to see the Red Kites, we took our VW Campervan and on arrival were offered a choice of pitch with or without hook-up. The camping field is gently sloping with level areas and an amazing view over the Elan Valley and the town of Rhayader unobtrusively nestling below. At night there is the most wonderful starscape...

Spent two nights here and wished we had made it three as the Caravan Club site the next day was so quiet and featureless ! The electric hook-up was ample for us and we had the heating on as it was late October, we took on water at the site and found that the visitor centre toilets were left open...

My friend and I are keen birdwatchers, and we were lucky enough to visit Gigrin Farm whilst on a visit to Ynys Hir. We live in Suffolk, where Red Kites are extremely rare indeed, so we were totally amazed by the spectacle of hundreds of swooping Red Kites. There were also several Peacocks/Peahens who entertained us by following the tractor...

We stumbled across this place whilst staying in nearby ryhader Fabulous find. If you love birds/amazing countryside you will love this place. After the kites we took the walk into the hillsides close by. Pure fluke gave us an amazing autumn day amongst stunning scenery.

Fantastic sight of Red Kites from the farm and also the available hides. Sat for almost an hour of feeding time and have never seen so many beautiful birds of prey at the same time. Also an added bonus of seeing the occasional buzzard and kestrel. A must see!

We have been meaning to go to Gigrin for ages, and the displays by hundreds of Red Kites were amazing and definately worth the trip. Shame the touring pitches and the facilities are still in the dark ages. No showers, How on earth tenting folk manage I dont know, and in busy times they must queue for ages for the...

Have visited the feeding station at Gigrin several times and never fail to be amazed at the numbers of kites that are attracted at feeding times bearing in mind this was a really rare bird not so many years ago. Good value at the admission price and usually plenty of room at the hides. For the more energetic there is...
