We stopped by one lunch time just on spec. What a wonderful place of character and good food. The ceiling is a mass of antiques and the place has a nice atmosphere partially due no doubt to the excellent staff. We had two courses for £12.95. Mine was a succulent flat iron steak with Béarnaise sauce, flat field mushroom and...

This was a last minute booking via Booking.com It was cheaper than the advertised price and we paid £9.95 pp extra for breakfast. A very warm welcome on Saturday afternoon and very easy check in. No form filling, car registration etc. Just a swipe of a credit card and then to the room. (9) Very clean and quaint. Bedding was...

Stayed at The Royal Arms for 3 nights as partner Richard 111 enthusiast. Lovely rooms in set back from main building. Very large car park bit disconcerting as not many cars. Ate in restaurant which was very good but bit lonely as we were only people eating. Overall good experience but needed more guests to give it atmosphere.

Stayed here for a night when a friend got married. A great place for a wedding! Staff are efficient and friendly and the space works for food/band/people. Bizarrely, the hotel charge card couldn't be used in the bar marquee. This turned out well for me as it meant I got bought drinks all night. If you're staying, it's important to...

Very nice setting in beautiful countryside. Very professional and efficient service and the Sunday lunch was beautiful, would highly recommend it. We were a large party of people with a couple of very young children and the staff were excellent with them. The children were even given a goody bag each which kept them entertained. Excellent choice of desserts too,

They had clearly overbooked and we were stuck upstairs in a room on our own no atmosphere. Food just OK though overpriced for the quality of food. Floater coffee came with squirty cream how gross never had that before obviously couldn't float cream as the said that's how they do it. Wont be tempted to go back there soon.

Sadly, there aren't many positives to our two nights stay at The Royal Arms. With a price of £125 a night for a family suite we're left wondering how the rooms are priced compared to other hotels we've stayed in. Walking into the room, it clearly needs updating and a refresh. The first issue comes at the cost of poor...

I was taken by a friend for a treat for my birthday. Although it was very quiet, the atmosphere was good. The service was excellent and the food lovely. All the dishes were good, the steak one of the best I have had, beautifully cooked.
