Charming little hotel, a few steps from the beach. El Copal offers the choice between staying in a bungalow or a palm tipi. The tipis are absolutely adorable and well equipped, although best for 3 or 4 person stays, since there are 2 tipis per platform and you must book both or none at all. Not a sound other than... We didn't stay at El Copal but we stayed in a nice place below it that did not have a full restaurant. We were able to walk up a very romantic stone path up to the restaurant and watch the beautiful sunsets over dinner or have a relaxing breakfast that was delicious and very affordable. Please not that this is... More

We arrived 6am and they let us into our room and let us use it until 8pm the next night even though we only paid for one night. Stunning setting which the cabanas really allow you to experience. Really nice welcoming people and great breakfasts plus great views from the restaurant. Outdoor showers and dry toilers are random and take... More

If you want to be inmersed in nature this is the best option, carrying your luggage is kind of a strugge but there is always helpful staff around. I loved the food at the restaurant, the silence and the trees. The rooms are not luxurius at all, but they are clean and keep you away from bugs. Also, having and... More

Mazunte is an old sort of hippie community and El Copal is a wonderful place to enjoy it. If you are looking for a fancy five stars resort with all the modern accomodations, you should look somewhere else. On the other hand, El Copal is not a load back packers hostel. The hotel claim to be eco friendly, that means... More

El Copal is a nice place. Spectacular views. Decent restaurant. Very helpful staff. A great beach destination that's off the beaten path. The cold water shower was a little more annoying than I anticipated. But other than that, I don't have any complaints about the hotel itself. All of that said: The access road to the hotel was completely destroyed... More

We stayed at el copal for three nights. We came by car and we really had to search where it was. We came by car, and it was a real challenge to get there, the last bit of the road to el copal is not good for your car, with great holes and bumps on the 'road'. We were checked... More

Our little cabana was close to the restaurant area while still maintaining a gorgeous view of the ocean!! The lounge area in the restaurant was a divine place to sit - peaceful, great place to read, wireless access, & a nice simple menu. Our room itself was simple - no frills. But had a certain charm was completely comfortable enough.... More

We spent the best time during our trip in Mexico at El Copal, the setting is perfect, the kind and friendly service from the staff is unmatched, the owners Carl and Nadia have done a great job, koru and waldo treated us as if we were at home. It all started at our arrival, from the terrace in the restaurant... More
