Originally was going to spend my first night in NZ in Culveden but the motel I wanted to stay in was fully booked. The proprietor suggested the Delhaven in Amberley as an alternative. Excellent price for a clean and tidy room. Very comfortable bed. Added bonus of a Countdown across the road along with several great eating places.

We (3 adults) spent one night in a 2 bedroom unit which despite being beside the main road was very quiet. The place was clean, spacious and, we felt, very good value for money. The owner was friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a motel unit on our way from Christchurch to the West Coast. The owner was very friendly and obliging, the unit had a comfortable queen bed and a single in the lounge/dining area. The motel is fairly old but has been updated with carpet and lino. There is a big supermarket across the road and several restaurants....

Clean and tidy basic accommodation made my stay a happy one. The showers were fantastic and the kitchen has everything you need (although you also have a small kitchen area in the cabin too with kettle, toaster and plates and cutlery etc). The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and the cats even friendlier. Thanks Delhaven.

We booked two motel rooms as a base for attending a concert at the nearby Waipara Winery. We found our stay excellent, the rooms had everything we needed and although the property is on the main road it wasn't noisy. Straight over the road from a Countdown which is handy. Service couldn't be faulted.

I was unsure if this establishment had a camp kitchen, wasnt clear on the website so emailed and got a prompt and friendly response. My campervan did not have toilet/shower facilities hence the email. I had a powered site for two nights. I stayed on the lower lawned area under some trees. No road per se just grass. No clear...

Good place for a stopover. Pleasant owners and staff. Motel just fine even though it's a bit dated. An easy walk to town or just over the road there's a Countdown. Not too far from Christchurch for shopping next day.

Yes you do get what you pay for but found the Delhaven "cabins" to be very disappointing. The "cabin" is basically an old motel unit. Extremely tired with an old smell. Fridge needed a new seal so it was going off and on all night.

Had a great time here. Extended family used three units. We were a bit wary because of previous reviews, so will only list the positives as they may be more helpful. Good location - we went to Amberley Golf Course; Railway Hotel, Amberley; Orana Park; Rangiora Aquatic Centre; Greta Valley; Hanmer Springs; and winery tours, etc. The motels have a...
