Grasmere is simply amazing in every sense of the word. We stayed here for the first 5 nights of our Honeymoon and it was magic. There were only 2 other guests so we had the run of the place. Chef to cater to our needs during the day. I requested ice cream for lunch and he obliged. We had the...

We had an amazing stay over Christmas and found this tranquil location absolutely fantastic. We were blessed with glorious weather which highlighted this picturesque setting and made the local walks even more enjoyable. We stayed in a room in the new wing which lacked the charm of the main homestead but had every conceivable amenity. On Christmas Day they packed...

Absolutely fantastic! Superb accommodation and food. Fully deserves to be a member of the small luxury hotel group. If you like being away from it all this is the place for you. Good walks locally with wonderful views. I haven't got superlatives enough to describe it all. Definitely one of the highlights of our New Zealand tour.

We were upgraded to the River Cottage. Best upgrade ever! Extraordinarily large 2 bedroom suites, huge living area, separate den, large fully equipped kitchen, a deck bigger than most other hotel rooms, a two car carport with a golf cart for your use on premises. You need the golf cart because you are quite a ways from the main lodge....

When we were taken to our room there was a small leak from the air conditioning unit, so my wife & I were moved up to "The Cottage" which was their only available spare room....& what a place that is....partly up the hillside reached by the golf buggy, with stunning views of mountains & the river valley, no houses or...

Stayed in the "Owner's House" with huge bedrooms, large living area and fantastic sunroom with large outdoor patios. Quiet and calm. The owner, Tom, is gracious and most enjoyable to talk with about the ranch and the history of the area. The meals were outstanding!

This stay was booked as part of a tour arranged by our travel agent so I do not know the individual cost so I cannot comment on value for money. However, I will say that Henry Royce of Rolls Royce once said "After the price is forgotten, quality endures" and for us the memory of a wonderful night will endure....

From the moment you step through the front door you are given a warm kiwi welcome, and that friendliness follows you through your whole stay at Grasmere. Everyone employee we met had a smile on their face, and showed a true interest in making our experience the best possible. No matter your level of activity there was always something to...

This place will leave you speechless but for the sake of writing a review I will speak. They can't take credit for the scenes but they can definitely take credit for placing this great lodge in the perfect spot. Tom was very welcoming and his hospitality was spot on. The amenities from kayaks to bikes, canoes, hikes, horses and clay...
