A comfortable, warm backpackers to stay at for a night or two with good beds and a large upstairs dining area with fantastic views of the mountains. We didn't buy food here as we brought our own. Kitchen facilities were basic and definitely lacking in some utensils. The bathroom light in our room wasn't working when we arrived and the...

We LOVED staying here! We rented one of the self-contained units, and we really liked having our own kitchen, especially since there aren't many places to eat in Mt. Cook Village. This was one of our favorite places to stay of the entire trip.

We stayed in the Motel Family Deluxe at the national park. We were glad that we chose that instead of some of the other accommodations at the park. It would be good for a family as there was a separate bedroom with twin beds. Laundry was available in another unit in our building. The view from our back patio was...

We stayed in the chalets and i have to admit it was one of the best stay during our whole trip. The view from the chalet of the mt cook mountain ranges is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms themselves are well maintained with all the necessary amenities for the stay. It is a small walk to the restaurant at the hermitage....

Very very dated Motel and in need of a revamp - but saying that everything was in working order. You do have to pay for wifi if required, which was $5 per device. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Book early to ensure you get value for money

Rooms were good with own bathroom ensuite. Mattress was a bit thin, could be improved. Ridiculous that they charged for wifi. Nice that there was a bar/restaurant. However, the kitchen was very poor. Only a few gas stoves actually worked, which was by far not enough to accomodate all of the guests. Also very poorly equipped. All in all a...

Spent 4 nights at this place, overall I had a pleasant stay except dealing with their front desk staff. I was given a room facing mount cook view which was really good. The property is quite old and you can smell one kind at the corridor but the room was clean. One thing to comment is the attitude of front...

Well at least the worst I ate in New Zealand. I had a Caesar salad and the bacon was cold and few days old, the egg poached was precooked and cold, the "grilled" chicken was preserved un-grilled, the Caesar sauce was tasteless and watered. Avoid this place at all cost !

The lodge was different from the usual backpackers that I've stayed in, the 4-bed dorm room had a bathroom, fridge, and balcony which were major plus points. It looked like an old hotel room, so clearly dated and needs a good renovation. But it was a good stay for a night, was worth it for the views outside.
