Fabulous YHA very clean, excellent facilities, bed very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Hostel has good parking and there is a reasonably priced restaurant a short walk away. Highly recommended.

Couldn't beat this location. You can sit in or outside the bar looking up to Mount Cook. Stunning. We stayed in a mixed 4 bed with en suite. Roomy but the bunks were wobbly and made a bit of a noise when you moved. Big kitchen for cooking.

Located in a beautiful and convenient spot in the village; close to all the trails and also the main road. It has awesome views all around; and we had fun watching the milky way in all its glory right from outside the hostel. The common facilities are all good and the place is good value for money considering that it...

I booked a female dorm and found the room to be pretty good, there was enough room for everyone's stuff and the USB ports in the lockers were nice so you could leave stuff charging while it was still secure. Check in was easy and the bathrooms were consistently pretty clean. The common area was kind of small and often...

My first experience at the YHA as most of the accomodation at Mt Cook was fully booked! It's a wooden building which gave it a warm feeling. However, this meant that the walls were not very sound proof and we got woken up by our neighbours closing the doors and walking outside our room. But overall, the facilities were great...

This was my second YHA experience and I much preferred it to my first stay in Lake Tekapo. This hostel had a mountain lodge feel with wood beams all in the interior and of course there is the gorgeous view of the mountains right outside. The wifi was slow but reliable. The kitchen and sitting areas were decently sized and...

This hostel was great! Lots of spaces to chill or eat. Lots of couches and tables. The sauna was great and wifi reached the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms had lockers! The kitchen was also well organized.

Staff are welcoming, warm and always ready to help. Beautiful building, cozy, clean, bright, convenient to trails. I stayed in a twin bunk with someone I met on the bus. It would have been tight with two large suitcases/backpacks but the other person was travelling light so it worked well. No closet or desk in the room so any time...

Stayed in a 6 bed dorm in February. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a really nice lounge and good kitchen space. Good WiFi. The yha is located in a fantastic area. Would definitely recommended!

Easy location to find, check in and stay at. I recommend it, but probably only if you don't plan to spend a lot of time here.... ie use it as a place to sleep. It is nice, with great staff that are friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, but even if you have a private room I'd take earplugs...
