Efficient and friendly customer service, comfortable and clean room, on the main town square so close to all the town has to offer, fresh and varied buffet breakfast, very good quality fare served in the restaurant (with an emphasis on locally-sourced ingredients) and dog friendly.
On Poschiavo’s main square, this beautiful old historic building is the perfect place to overnight. Their rooms have an old style feel to them yet recently they have all been updated with absolutely modern albeit cosy bathrooms. And the building is just a gem to wander around with the Sybille room as the absolute highlight. Their restaurant is an easy choice for dinner and certainly does not disappoint with the local specialties such as the tasty but super heavy pizokels, probably best eaten for an early dinner or rather lunch. The pistacchio creme brulee was absolutely amazing. The staff also deserves a special mention, Valentina from the reception went out of her way to ensure everything happened in accordance with the guests’ wishes and Chiara in the bar was just an absolute smiling delight.…
The choice for this hotel was taken after checking the brochure 'Swiss Historic Hotels', of which the Albrici is a member, naturally also because we wanted to experience the attractive Borgo of Poschiavo and the beautiful surroundings. Location of the hotel is ideal, on central Piazza Communale next to the church. The building is really historical, going back to the 17th century, as the friendly receptionist Silvia explained to us, when showing us some representative rooms for special uses today. During our stay my wife and me got to experience two different rooms, once a 'Historic Comfort Room' in the main house, once a Junior Suite in a 'Dependence', about 150m away. The first room was not very big, but had traditional furniture, while the Junior Suite was quite large, with a small balcony, but completely modern in character, although also in a historical house. We liked the fact that it was quiet at night and that there were good reading lamps by the beds, which in both rooms had excellent mattresses, among the best we ever slept on in a hotel. As a welcome there was a tasty local sweet once, at the other place a bottle of mineral water and two apples. The Junior Suite had a minibar and a kitchen, which could get used at an extra charge. Tea making facilities were there (no coffee though). The Junior Suite had a nice view facing south, less so the comfort room, which had an entrance door with glass, through which people going to other rooms could look through. Rather modest were the bathrooms with hardly any space to store toiletries, with a small bar of soap and a combined shampoo-shower gel dispenser by the shower, which in the case of the Junior Suite had weak water pressure and not the best mixing of cold and hot. No problem in this respect in the Comfort room. Breakfast buffet in the main building had a nice choice of items, one could even boil eggs. Coffee, bread and croissants were brought to the table. There is also a restaurant attached for the other meals with great outdoor seating by the piazza, where one can try local specialities.…
We had a superb lunch in the Hotel Albrici. Warm welcome, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The 3 mushroom pizza was the best we had ever tasted, and the pasta dish we had was also excellent. Highly recommended.
Spent 2 nights here on our trip through Switzerland. Valentina and the staff are very accommodating for their guests. Did my laundry on a Sunday, helped us plan our day trips and took great care of us in the restaurant. The pizza here is some of best you will ever have. This is a great location to base your stay and explore the valley. With a 2 night stay you get free access to the train from Saint Moritz to Tirano. Nothing printed in English around so bring your Italian translation book, German is available too.
