Our group have stayed here on 3 occasions and have always had excellent service, lovely food, traditional entertainment and great value for money. The setting is perfect, beautiful and well placed for lots of Christmas Markets. The staff were very helpful beforehand, recommending excursions, booking things for me and generally just being nice people! The village is pretty, and the... More

Good welcome but twin room had both beds together, could not pull them apart. On complaining someone came and made up the bed setter as second bed. Room was the most dismal I have stayed in. Very dark, had to use a torch to see into the wardrobe. Bathroom small and dismal, all brown tiles and old fashioned. It would... More

Good value for the price we paid. Our first continental coach trip and I have to say it will be our last. Far to much travelling and very little sightseeing. The Hotel was clean and the room we had was a good size, with a lovely balcony. Good shower and the water was hot. Bed Linen and towels were changed... More

Our room was very clean and spacious and quiet. We could only hear the bells from the church in the bathroom. They allow smoking in the bar and reception and so there was a smell of smoke which we are not used to. Food on the whole was quite good, but for some strange reason they served PASTA with every... Stayed for four nights with a coach trip. Great for smokers, but if you don't like cigarette smoke in Reception, In the Bar, and in all other public areas then avoid this place like the plague. Most rooms are basic and tatty, although there are a few that have been re-furbished. We were in the annexe (across a busy street)....... More

We stayed here for four nights on a Shearings coach tour for the Christmas markets. Our room was on the top floor so the lift helped, it was very clean and the beds were really comfy, with those lovely squashy square pillows. The staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly, dressing in national costume to serve our meals (breakfast was a... More

Staff so friendly, food was very nice good meals every night, free entertainment for 3 nights not on the agenda but well appreciated, Room was so clean bit noisy with either traffic or church bells but only early in the morning. Free pass for bus/train and maps so journey to Zell was within easy reach. Serving girls... More

Comfortable room ( with useful safe ). nice buffet breakfast but only average evening meals. One very professional attentive waitress and another who appeared somewhat less interested. The village church is across the road and has very loud bells especially at 6.00 in the morning ! Traffic is heavy and loud(at night) for a small village mainly affecting rooms at... More

Hotel itself comfortable and clean, food could be improved - particularly for vegetarians! - and have experienced better customer service. It is however situated in a good position to tour the surrounding Black Forest area

heartily welcommed when checked in. Staff allover friendly. Always good informations on where to go and what to do. A typical lovely black forest hotel in a small village, surrounded by valleys and hills. If you have a car it is the ideal point to start a roundtrip through the black forest with Triberg and Titisee or visit Straßbourg or... More
