This is a good hotel which I would come back to. The food is good, not great, but it is good value. The bars are rather soulless and the cocktails are poor (made using syrups), but the prices of drinks overall are reasonable. The pools are nice and the pool areas are clean and spacious. The staff have great language skills and are very friendly. One big warning, though, is very poor wi-fi. The wi-fi in my room did not work. The internet connection cut out every 1 to 2 minutes, I reported it three times, and although the maintenance team came round, it was never fixed. This is a major drawback if you need the internet. Also, you can only use the safe in your room if you pay an extra fee of €3 a day. I would much rather the hotel built this into the overall price of the hotel. I was lucky because my safe was broken and once it was fixed I was not charged for its use. Local taxis are good and cheap. I found the bus service to be very unreliable with buses cancelled at the last minute. The buses also do not take cards or banknotes above €10. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel does not have heating in the rooms and we found it chilly in the evenings and used extra blankets to keep warm.…
We used this hotel as a base for visiting the rest of the island. It is situated just outside of the resort of Costa Teguise and it takes about 30 minutes to walk into the resort from the hotel. There are bus stops outside the hotel and taxis if you wish to go to Costa Teguise or elsewhere. I would recommend hiring a car. We hired a car from the car hire at the hotel. Excellent hassle free service. The resort is very large and is geared up for people who like to have an active holiday. A lot of cyclists used the hotel as a base to explore the island. The outdoor areas with the swimming pools are lovely. The pools are very cold at this time of year and there were very few people swimming in them. Our room was on the first floor and had a sea view and overlooked the pool. It had a balcony which in February got the sun from about 11am - 4pm. The rooms are large and modern. There were 2 single beds pushed together to make a double but they were the comfiest hotel beds I have slept in . They were large and you also had a choice of three pillows. The hotel is very clean and rooms are serviced daily. There is entertainment on each evening in the hotel but we didn't go to this so I can't comment on how good or bad this was. The restaurant is large and buffet style. It offers a good selection of different types of food. Breakfasts are very good. Evening meals are ok but a lot of the food that was supposed to be hot was not hot enough and was either warm or cold . We found this to be the case whether you went early at 6.30pm or later at 9pm. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It certainly has something for everyone whether you are choosing to use the sports facilities, relax and sunbathe or as a base to explore the island. Worth a visit. …
Lovely hotel, beautiful pool area, good food (especially the breakfast buffet), pleasant and helpful staff. We had paid for Royal Level, which has it's own check in desk so you do not need to queue with everyone else (check-in is slow). The room was great - spacious and clean, although the area outside the rooms was not swept whilst we were there. We were disappointed that the restaurant and pool area exclusive to Royal customers was closed and there had been no notification of this even though we only booked a couple of weeks before travelling. The alternate restaurant was good and luckily the main pool area wasn't busy. We would have liked a quiet bar for evening drinks (the only evening bar is in the main hall where the evening entertainment takes place). Cocktails were made from sweet juice mixes, very disappointing. It would have been good to have a no smoking policy outside, with a separate designated area for smokers. The gym facilities were included, but there is a 3euro charge to use the Olympic pool. It's a lovely 45min walk to Costa Teguise along a paved promenade. Local buses stop outside the hotel and the local bus service across the island is cheap and reliable. The IntercityBus Lanzarote bus app made planning trips easy. You do need to join a tour to go into the Timanfaya Volcano park.…
I liked the hotel very much. Especially the room. A very nice design. A very nice location. Calm at the ocean. Friendly service. Great breakfast. Comfortable keys. Good dinner. I liked the architecture of the hotel.
On arrival welcomed with a glass of orange ,champagne or water, check in took ages, stayed in sister hotel across the road, ,loads of steps and few lifts, room excellent beds and pillows amazing lovely big room and bathroom, food was lovely and lots of it,down side the hotel is not near a sandy beach only a rubble beach which isn't that nice took 45 mins to walk into Costa teguise unless you are an athlete. walking from the hotel to Costa teguise there is a lot of rubbish, vandalised buildings, broken bottles and general rubbish. The beaches are nothing amazing no clear water. Even though the hotel is lovely Lanzarote isn't and we wouldn't return
Just returned from a long weekend stay at this wonderful hotel. Everything was great from the easy check-in, friendly staff, choice of food and drink, pools/sun beds, restaurants/bars, couldn’t fault. Our very comfortable double room was in the hotel across the road from the main hotel, both hotels are equally good and you can use both. We stayed all inclusive, plenty of choice in the restaurants and bars. Quick transfer from the airport approx €20 by taxi. Walk into the town/square to bars/shops/market is approx 30 minutes, regular bus pick ups (stop outside the hotel) or reception will call you a taxi. Highly recommend.
We booked this hotel as we had previously stayed at the sister hotel in Fuerteventura, and had an amazing holiday, it was absolutely stunning in every way. Unfortunately this place was a million miles away from that. The hotel is very dated and in desperate need of a makeover. Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the pool areas, common areas are very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The weather was bad when we arrived, and wanted the heating on in our room, but we’re told it doesn’t work, only a/c to cool the room. Patio doors did not lock, so if the people from the next room had fancied popping over for a rummage around, hey, no problem. Apparently, Gordon’s gin, Captain Morgan rum and Guinness are all considered to be premium drinks, now whilst I admit that Guinness is a fine pint, the named spirits are hardly top quality, but no, not available to us mere all inclusive guests. Upgrade to all inclusive plus for that, err I don’t think so. And then we get to the food…..don’t, just don’t bother, it was disgusting, tasteless, unimaginative, boring, and the same everyday. When I spoke to the Tui rep about the food,he was most put out. In fact he was very surprised, as he assured me that all the Brits loved the food, stating it was top quality. Well, every other person we spoke to from Britain, had the same thoughts as us, and would never stay there again. Furthermore, when I spoke to the rep, on our first morning, enquiring about moving to the south sister hotel in resort, he told me there was no point, it would take 72 hours and cost us an extra £400 each. I asked why ? And his answer was that’s just the way it is, he wasnt interested in our complaints, or in any way interested in making us happy. He just couldn’t be bothered, he didn’t make any enquiries on the availability at the sister hotel or any other Tui hotel on the island, and clearly he just thought by throwing out 72 hours and £400 each would be enough to shut us up. We have had cause to move hotels on holiday in the past, and have always accepted that there would be some charge involved if moving to a better hotel etc, but at least we were genuinely given that option, this guy was just none idle and not interested. But that’s what you get with Tui, I wouldn’t go to the end of our road with them again, back to Jet2 in the future. …
We've just returned from 10 wonderful days at Occidental Lanzarote Playa (Jan 2020) The staff are lovely & can't do enough to help, the hotel itself is clean, spacious & has a lovely atmosphere. Ignore any of the negative reviews concerning the food. The restaurant is excellent with litterally hundreds of different dishes to choose from every day. The kids club is excellent & allows parents to have a couple of hours to themselves while the kids make new friends & play. There is some good quality entertainment in the evenings and lots of activities around the hotel, all looked after by the brilliant animation team. We will be going back for a 3rd visit, and probably more after that!
Very good service I highly recommend, the hotel. good facilities, room clean and comfortable beds with an excellent view, food in the restaurant was tasty and there was choices for everyone. Over all a very good experience
Aguidan made my evenings at the bar an absolute delight. He had the right balance of friendliness, attention familiarity to make me feel welcome, involved and relaxed so I went back again and again. He is young but has the qualities that you cannot pay for, he's just a natural. Thank you from Ireland ☘️
