We were very impressed with the hotel. The rooms were basic but very clean. The air conditioning wasn't brilliant but this might not have been helped by the fact that it was so much warmer than normal (even for July). The staff were brilliant, like with other reviews I can attest to the fact that they are so helpful and friendly.
The pool area is lovely, although it was stifling due to the heat and had little to no breeze and the pool was so warm it was like a bath. We spent most of our time at the lovely beach, which is literally over the road. Two sunbeds and a brolly are 17.50 euros for the day.
We were half board and there was plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. We did eat out at the local restaurants on two occasions just for a change. They were really good but it was quite significantly more expensive than the last time we were in Menorca (pre COVID), I assume that this is due to general rises in cost and also possibly to recover from the losses of the last few years.
I would say this hotel is brilliant for couples and families with very young children who want a quiet break. I wouldn't recommend it for families with children who are slightly older as there is nothing really going on for them. Its not really the kind of pool area for splashing, playing games or being overly boisterous. There was only entertainment on two evenings over the week.
It's spotlessly clean, the staff are all wonderful, the rooms are lovely. Our bathroom seemed like new and the walk in shower was very powerful and a joy to use! The air conditioning was very quiet and not too cold.
The food was good and fairly varied. The snack bar was very reasonably priced and offered a good choice.
The pool was well maintained and we never had a problem getting sun beds at any time of day.
The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the beach and resort centre which offers a few restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets as well as a pharmacy.
Genuinely can't fault this hotel, highly recommended.
We stayed half board and meals were buffet. Evening meals you had to buy drinks including water but at breakfast they were included. As it was a small hotel there wasn't much variety with the food but there was always something to eat. There didn't seem to be much vegetarian options. There is a snack bar by the pool which we ate at twice and was very reasonable.
The pool is lovely and so warm, I have never been in a pool abroad which seems warm but still refreshing to cool off in. The beach is lovely, we paid 17 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella. There was a nice breeze by the beach which was appreciated in 37 degree heat.
The only issue I have is there was not much to do in the area. There is a water park about 10 mins from the hotel and we caught the bus to Mahon and went on the catamaran which was lovely. There was also a little market in Mahon. There are a few restaurants and supermarkets near the hotel and one night there was a little market, but there are no bars. The hotel put a flamenco show on one night.
I would return to this hotel but no more than 5 days as I feel there isn't much to do in the area, but overall it's a delightful hotel and I had a very relaxing stay.
Rooms are clean, loads of storage, lovely spacious bathroom. We hired a fridge for 7euros per day and brought our little kettle so we could have a coffee, and keep food and drink in for lunches and during the day.
We were on the ground floor so had a terrace which was fab, able to walk straight out into the pool area.
Pool is great, big space for kids and plenty of room for a swim. Loads of sun beds and shade, we never struggled and most days there were spares.
The food was ok, we are not foodies and there was always something that we could fancy. Salad bar was great, and loads of fruit too.
Staff were all super helpful, we had an evening flight home and as the hotel was full we were unable to get s late check out but we were able to book a slot to use the shower room behind reception which meant we could relax round the pool on the last day without travelling home all sticky!!
The location was great for us, everything within half a kilometre, beach straight over the road ( yes seaweed but gorgeous water and sand), 2 supermarkets with great choice, a few restaurants, some market stalls occasionally, a bus stop to get to Mahon which comes regularly and only takes 30 mins.
Honestly, was a super choice for a chilled and laid back week.
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and the way they all switched between languages for the different guests was excellent. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, we were so impressed by this. Food was basic but nice. The pool area was beautiful - lots of trees and greenery, plus never an issue getting a sunbed.
The beach is opposite the hotel, we were in room 805 which had a view of the sea and was lovely. There are also a few restaurants along the main road by the beach, along with shops. There’s a car hire rental place just round the corner (worth pre-booking online for this (Vall’s Rentals)) as a couple we met were told they had to go every morning at 9am to see if a car was available! The hotel has some parking out the front but if that’s full, there’s a huge free public car park just next door. The bus stop is also next to the hotel, with regular buses into Mahon, from where you can get buses across the island.
The room had a hair dryer in the bathroom and air con which was much needed. There was a safe but it was chargeable, as was a room fridge. In the grounds there was crazy golf, table tennis (both free) and pool (€1 per game).
There’s a watchtower just behind the hotel (about 5min walk) and it’s a fantastic spot to watch the sunset.
We loved our stay here and this won’t be the last time we visit.
The are snacks available from the bar at lunchtime.
The staff make the hotel. Ferran and his team look after the dining room and bar whilst the reception team all appear to be able to seamlessly switch from one language to another.
If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break, then the Xaloc Playa is for you.
Reception was spacious and decorated in a modern scheme. All staff were friendly and most helpful.
As previously stated the lovely beach was a few minutes walk away. The hotel pool was good but water cold. There’s a few supermarkets a short stroll away selling all essentials and more.
Buffet breakfast had a decent choice as did evening meal, bearing in mind this hotel is rates 3*.
The bus stop for the Mahón bus is right outside the hotel and journey time is less than 30 mins.
For a quiet, relaxing break in the sun at a reasonable cost this is one of the places to stay. I will return next year for a cheeky week.
