I booked online through one of the main sites. There were a few mixed reviews although many good ones too. We initially booked for three nights and then decided to add a fourth. Although this involved a change of room it helped confirm both were of similar standard. The poachers inn is a classic country pub with new accommodation built...

Lovely peacefully little place. Comfortable clean accommodation. Tiny village surrounded by gorgeous Dorset countryside. Busy Pub resteraunt. We ate here for breakfast and two evening meals. Breakfast was very good. Food generally excellent but very slow service on Saturday evening, fair enough they do say that food is freshly cooked so there may be a delay however to wait over an...

Used a Red Letter day voucher for an over night stay. Very nice staff and all very helpful. As we were out of season the premises were very quiet which we did not mind. We had an evening meal along with the breakfast in the morning we had no complaints. Nice pub atmosphere with a sprinkling of a few locals...

Staying during the night on Easter Saturday, I was a little limited with accommodation choices but chose the Poacher's Inn after reading fair reviews. The hotel is not quite as I had expected on the website: it is in a beautiful, small village with the entrance right on the road. "Pub" feel definitely takes precedence over "hotel" feel. You check...

Short break in this super privately owned inn. First class personal service, great restaurant , lovely room. Brilliant location not far from Dorchester. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Well appointed spacious room.

Fabulous setting - picture postcard village. Great service and lovely room, self contained along a balcony. Nice food - freshly cooked breakfast. Would be 5 star if wifi extended to accommodation (but maybe this is a good thing?!)

We arrived at the poachers to a warm welcome. Lovely rooms. The staff particularly,Katy were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and fabulous taste. The only issues we had were a small soft bed,but to be fair that's personal choice and the shower was small, but were worth overlooking for a fab experience.

This lovely village in Dorset houses "The Poachers Inn" a 21 roomed hotel and restaurant. From check in till departure we were welcomed and felt comfortable in our surroundings. The executive style rooms were clean and spacious with all the little extras that made it comfortable. The bar area is clean and reasonably priced. We ate in the restaurant one...
