Booked a week's stay in a junior suite, which turned out to be a semi detached bungalow in the attractive olive grove grounds of the hotel. Very disappointed with our suite 310. Right next to a path leading to other suites etc so we felt overlooked on our terrace and felt people using the path could see into our room. But the worst problem was the 24/7 noise from the extractor fans for the hotel kitchens just across the path, and the view of the tall, silver extractor chimney and the telegraph pole right outside. Noise was so awful, we couldn't relax on the terrace and it was still audible inside our bungalow with the patio doors shut. Next morning, we asked if we could move to a bungalow further up the hill, where we couldn't hear the noise and we could have an actual view. Luckily suite 315 was being vacated later that day, and we could have it for the remaining 6 nights of our holiday. Bliss. A view of the mountain and gardens and no noise drilling into my brain, all the time. Junior suites are spacious with 6 ft beds, separate lounging area, 2 desks, big shower cubicle, basin in the room with no screening but a separate toilet with a basin, if you prefer more privacy to wash. Large terrace with pretty widow boxes, table and 2 chairs. The hotel is very plush, with restaurant seating areas inside and outside. The food was AMAZING the entire week we were there. I am pescatarean and I had a choice of fish every night. Also there were always chicken and either lamb, beef or pork options. FANTASTIC choices of vegetables, all perfectly cooked and served hot from the pick yourself buffet. Breakfasts were varied....you name it, they had it. Less choice with desserts, but I defy anyone to not find something that suited them. Six choices of ice creams every night, plus fruit and cheese and biscuits. The pool is a decent size and the pool area is lovely, with lots of shade and 2 Bali style beds with curtains. The pool bar serves a great selection of lunches, all delicious and not rip off prices, as well as drinks. The lovely bar staff will even bring your order to your sun lounger. I would have given 5 stars, but for 2 things. 1 )The walls between the adjoining bungalows are not solid....consequently, in both the suites we stayed in, we could hear noise from other guests...talking but more annoyingly, snoring. 2) There was muzak on a loop played everywhere. At breakfast, piped soft jazz. In the pool bar area during the day, a better choice but in the evenings in the restaurant, a very odd selection of music and it was very LOUD. Our first night in suite 310 we could hear every single word and it wasn't switched off until 10.30. In suite 315, it was not so intrusive and later in the week, the volume was reduced significantly and turned off earlier, so maybe other guests complained. Would we stay here again? If I could guarantee that we would be offered a suite with a view and no extractor fan noise, then YES, definitely. What have I learned? That not all junior suites are created equal yet the price is the same. It's the luck of the draw if you get a noisy one with no view or a quiet one with a lovely view. In conclusion, I cannot rate the food here highly enough so if you like to eat well on your holiday, you won't be disappointed here.

Response from Julia Debono, General Manager at Art Hotel Debono
Responded 5 Feb 2024
Dear guests, Thank you for sharing your experience with Art Hotel Debono! It is much appreciated by us. We are working hard to improve our services and facilities and we hope this was reflected in your experience. Our hotel is located in a private area with rich vegetation and this is the first thing you see. All our rooms, especially the bungalows that are in the heart of the garden, are surrounded by olive trees, an oasis of green. They all have exactly the same amenities, those closest to the main building are usually the most popular because they have easy access to the restaurant, the swimming pool, the gym and all the facilities. Besides, everything is air-conditioned and with the windows closed, nothing can be heard inside the room. And for those who are very sensitive to any noise, we are always willing to change as we did. The music selections are songs from great hits over the years and are a combination of Greek and foreign melodies. We receive every day excellent reviews concerning our rooms and bungalows and especially the cleanliness of our hotel and the services we offer. In line with our commitment of constant improvement of our facilities , all the points you have brought forward will be evaluated and taken under serious consideration. Thank you once again for choosing our Art Hotel Debono and we would be looking forward to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards Art Hotel Debono Team

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for a week after doing a Tui cruise. So nice to be somewhere quiet with a lovely pool and super comfy sunbeds that you will guarantee to get any time of day. The hotel was at full capacity but it never felt crowded and the restaurant was always spacious with plenty of tables. We had a family suite in a bungalow. So much room and the beds were really comfy. Huge balcony which we could see the sea from. It was my husband's 50th birthday while we were there. The hotel helped me surprise him by decorating one of the secluded double sunbeds with a banner, balloons and a bottle of prosecco in a bucket of ice. He was totally blown away to find this and it made his day really special. They even brought out a birthday cake at breakfast. We can't thank them enough. The food was really good, so much choice and it was always fresh and very tasty. My kids loved the food too (ages 13 and 15). You are only a 10 minute walk from the beach which was great but bring water shoes as it is quite stony.

What a lovely well run boutique hotel this gem is. Situated in sub tropical gardens fringed with date palms Art Hotel Debono provides a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed both indoors and on the outdoor terrace, whilst lunch is available from the poolside restaurant. As expected there is a tempting selection of hot and cold fare on offer, together with an interesting wine list. Hotel bedrooms and bungalows are furnished to an excellent standard and the lounges tastefully filled with comfortable soft furnishings and pieces of art. Thank you to Julia Debono and your colleagues for a wonderful stay. Phil and Julie Stansfield

Stayed for a glorious week half board in late September. Booked a standard garden view room but we were "upgraded" to a slightly larger junior suite that had a view of a roof and nothing else! The room was comfortable with quality furniture and furnishings and so, so clean. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job, the whole hotel always looked spotless and smelt divine! Free safe was a bonus. Free pool towels also supplied. Breakfasts were good, there was always a slight variation every day in the cooked offerings, as well as the staple eggs, bacon, sausage etc. Excellent coffee from the machine - there was always a queue. Buffet dinners were very good, an excellent choice of quality meat dishes and always plenty of vegetables/vegetarian options. The hotel also seemed better than most in keeping the buffet food hot which can be such a problem. It was lovely to be able to dine outdoors. The pool area is lovely and we never had a problem getting sunbeds even though we weren't there until mid to late afternoon. Lovely pool bar serving snacks and drinks. Bar prices both at the pool bar and the main bar seemed very reasonable, with reduced prices on beer and cocktails during happy hours. All staff were friendly, efficient and hard working, with a special mention going to Vasilis. The only negative comment has to be location - the hotel is on the opposite side of the main road to the town and beach. You have to walk down the road with no pavement , then cross the main road, though traffic lights make the crossing safe. We like to go for a walk after our dinner but felt there was no easy way to do that here. The bus stops are on the main road, and it's so easy and cheap to use the buses to either go into Corfu town or the other way to Paleocastritsa, Kassiopi or Roda. The local (blue) buses to Corfu Town are cheaper if you buy your ticket from the machine before boarding (1.5 euros rather than 2.30), but unfortunately the ticket machine at the stop below the hotel was out of action while we were there. For the green buses you get on the bus and a conductor comes along and issues your ticket - 1.60 euros one way to Paleocastritsa which is a 25 minute journey - bargain! In summary, a stylish, well run hotel which lived up to our expectations.

Had a fantastic time, the hotel is quite simply wonderful. The friendly and helpful staff, the food and location are noteworthy. Everything was spotless. We did see a few reviews saying it is remote but how can that be when the bus stop is a 5-10 minute walk away and from there you can get anywhere. Would highly recommend the fine dining menu with your own waiter by the pool for a very romantic experience ( our 10th wedding anniversary ) we were upgraded to a bungalow as it was a special occasion. If we come back to Corfu ( still have a big bucket list ) l wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, you won’t be disappointed if you visit .

We have just returned from a very relaxing week at the art hotel debono. The hotel was lovely, clean and modern. We were in a double room in the main building which was more than adequate for us. Food was faultless we were half board. Breakfast had a good selection and the evening meal is different every night and everything was lovely. If you want a holiday that is hassle free, chilled and relaxing then book this hotel. Gouvia is a short walk away about 10mins there is a footpath on part of it but we never found it an issue to walk on the road day or night. Only top I would give is to use insect repellent as the mosquitos are awful. I have no negative comments to make about this hotel and would return again if we come back to Corfu.

It was our first time at Art Hotel Debono, in Corfu island as well. Everything was excellent! Beautiful hotel, tastefully decorated, convenient location. Good size room, very clean, comfortable and quiet. Our room was with a big balcony overlooking the sea and Gouvia. Delicious home made breakfast, big choice of cold and hot meals. Several times we had buffet dinner. Food was excellent also and good value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They do their best to enjoy your stay and make you feel like at home. Art Hotel Debono is located in a walkable distance to Gouvia and Marina Gouvia. Hotel has a lovely pool and beautiful garden. It has a private parking also. The location of the hotel is very convenient for exploring an island by car. Kerkyra town is about 8 km and the port is about 7 km from the Hotel. You need a car if you want to travel around the island or reach beautiful beaches in Corfu (p.s. have in mind that roads in Corfu island are of bad road conditions). We liked everything. Best wishes to all the staff of Art Hotel Debono. Looking forward to see you again.

This hotel is beautiful! The classy decor and ambiance was faultless and everywhere was spotless and smelt so fresh. Our room was large with a huge comfortable bed and lovely private balcony to the rear of the hotel. The food was amazing and as said before, different every day and was kept topped up by the hardworking staff who always had a smile. The grounds are peaceful and picturesque with a beautiful pool area with lots of sun beds and shade. The only downside for us was the location. Although it was peaceful and set away from the main road, we found Gouvia itself a little underwhelming. The bay is beautiful but the town seemed a bit run down sadly and the road down was a bit if a challenge as only a small length of footpath. That said, it didn’t spoil our holiday as this beautiful hotel was a fabulous place to stay.

What can I say; we had an amazing holiday of 10 days. The room was lovely and cleaned daily. The staff were amazing and so helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel, it felt like you were staying in a family run hotel. The food was great, different every day of our stay. We arrived late in the evening and were given large baguettes, fruit and drink to welcome us. Would recommend the pool bar for snacks and lunch. Once at the hotel you did not want to leave, it was calm and tranquil. Nothing was too much for the staff. The hotel was boutique style, the design very elegant. We spent most of our days and evenings here, we did venture out and about to the town and village.

A gem of a hotel ! On arriving we were immediately upgraded to a family room as it was our anniversary while away. The hotel is beautiful and smells lovely as you walk in and also in the rooms. The food choices for breakfast and evening meal are plentiful and delicious. A very quiet and relaxing place where the staff cannot do enough to help. We loved the pool, no queuing for sunbeds here as always plenty of spaces. My husband even said he would return for another holiday which is something he has never said in 30 years!. We will be back ! If you are thinking about booking just do it , you will not be disappointed! Thankyou to all at Hotel Debono for a wonderful holiday !
