Detailed Reviews
Spatia is both a unique and unusual place. The resort is set up with rooms located far, far from the main building. During our stay, the Spatia Club, which also has a pool, was closed, so we had to use the main pool. Everything was beautiful, but it's important to bring everything from your room, as the quickest way to get around is by driving. Though bikes are available. Walking from the rooms to the pool, breakfast area, or main building is almost not feasible. The rooms themselves are nice, well-equipped, new, and spacious. The main pool, which is heated and also very nice, has limited capacity, and unfortunately, guests tend to reserve sunbeds with towels. I encourage the resort management to address this issue proactively with guests. Overall, it was both a “unique” and “unusual” experience...

From the first encounter with the staff at check-in, our experience at Spatia Comporta was nothing short of wonderful! Ana and her staff are some of the most welcoming, thoughtful and accommodating personnel I have had the pleasure to know. They upgraded our room to a cabana which was a wonderful surprise! Little touches like a cheeseboard, bottle of champagne and slice of cake at check-in in celebration of my husband's birthday, a minibar whose contents are offered at no charge and a private firepit with marshmallows in the evening make guests at Spatia feel special and appreciated. Ana was always responsive and helpful in providing restaurant and beach suggestions and accommodated a late check out for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing, calming beach vibe of the resort. The pools are gorgeous and they offer bikes and tennis and pickleball equipment for guests' use. We will enthusiastically recommend Spatia Comporta to our friends and hope to return someday soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spatia Comporta. Whilst it is just outside Comporta (a car is beneficial to discover the local area) we really liked the laidback relaxing vibe, a real getaway from it all. There are tennis, pickleball and paddle courts, just head to reception and request whatever racquets you require. Cycles are also kept there for general use around the property. If that’s too energetic you can laze around the pool and be supplied with drinks and snacks. There’s a great selection of food for breakfast and we enjoyed a few dinners and the Monday BBQ at Ora Restaurant - the Scarlet and Tiger Prawns are huge and delicious! We stayed in a stunning and extremely comfortable cabana, which had everything required for a perfect stay. The staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is everything it should be. Spatia Comporta was hard to leave and we genuinely look forward to returning.

Dear Spatia Comporta Team,
After our stay I was asked to provide feedback. After I did so, unfortunately, nobody ever responded to it, which is - to be honest - not surprising and matches our experience which was not so good compared to other hotels in Portugal, which delivered excellent service for a lower price.
I must say that the property and location is beautiful and the breakfast buffet is really good. The entire setting is very relaxing and well connected to the nature.
However, the staff needs more training. Here are some suggestions for making the stay memorable and matching the high price you are charging (approx. €600/night in high season):
Pls. no plastic bottles at dinner, regular service at pool during the day so people can order food and drinks, pick up dirty dishes at pool after meal (not sitting there for 1.5hrs), clean tables at pool every morning, for breakfast assign tables to specific service attendant to avoid chaos, build a gym, higher the fences at tennis court. Currently, the price does not meet the expectations of a 4* hotel… other hotels for less money do a better job. Value was rather €250/night but not more. Cost was not adequate the standard and service.
Since the hotel is not one of the big 5* hotels (where you may pay for the name as well) and has no sea view or any other components you may be charged for, the service must be exceptional as this is the only thing left.
Overall, it feels like no one really is in charge. Pls. provide more structure. Service is not something you just do. Training is needed. Nevertheless, I want to mention that the staff on site was always friendly.
I read that a new hotel manager will start. Maybe he can sort things out…
Thanks.

Spatia is a nice place. We stayed in a cabana which was very nicely built and furnished, very comfortable spacious and cool. There is a nice pool which when we were there was not crowded (although we didn't spend very much time there) and a couple of tennis/padel courts. It is situated in a fragrant and lovely grove of pine trees and it is very peaceful and calm.
Points I would make for potential visitors - “Comporta” is a large and scattered area. This property is kind of far from everything. Comporta village is 20 minutes drive and Carvalhal (closest beach) is also 20 minutes drive. Whilst 20 minutes isn’t that far, if you want to go to the beach, come back and shower and then go out for dinner you are talking about way over an hour in the car just going back and forth. The hotel does run shuttles to and from the beach but I would highly recommend hiring a car. If you want to spend a lot of time on the property, or go to the beach then eat in the hotel then that’s fine (and there are a lot of young families staying who seem to do just that). There is a restaurant onsite which is perfectly decent - we however like to eat in different local Portuguese restaurants.
Second - there is no gym or spa - apparently there is a wellness centre under construction.
Third - the people working there are absolutely lovely and helpful but service is all a bit variable at best - slightly chaotic breakfast service for example. This is just a matter of training and organisation (so it’s really a leadership/management issue, not the individuals themselves)

A brand new offer…. The rooms are large and comfortable, the service is outstanding. We felt like being alone as the number of rooms are limited which allow you to be pampered. The staff is very dedicated and is willing to make your stay unique…. Very quite area, excellent to disconnect

Everything is perfect in this hotel, first the location in the middle of a pine forest that provides calm and serenity. The cabins are spaced far enough apart so that everyone has their cocoon. The decor of the rooms is neat and tasteful. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Facilities like swimming pools are very good. Breakfast is made of fresh, varied and quality products. Everything is planned for a wonderful stay.

We arrived at Spatia Comporta and from the start our experience was exceptional. The staff is very professional and helpful, attending to all our needs. The location of the property is ideal for quiet days by the pool or a short trip to the many beautiful beaches nearby. The design of the rooms is minimal elegance and the property is an oasis of calm. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant too.

The hotel is located in a beautiful property. Near the town of Comporta and the coast, closest beaches: Carvalhal and Pego. If you are not in the car, the hotel offers a transfer. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and quiet. Very good breakfast, served until 12:00, with varied items. The property has a beautiful landscape, with plenty of rosemary and lavender. To move around the property, bicycles are provided. The staff is very attentive and helpful. I highlight the employee Renzo who served us during breakfast, very friendly and gave us various information about the region. We definitely intend to go back.

Fabulous breakfast, varied and everything very fresh.
Very comfortable and large room.
Super attentive team
Super quiet hotel
Note that some spaces are still under construction and the need for denser vegetation would help with greater privacy between rooms and especially with cooler areas.
There is no shower (changing room) in the pool area (makes it easier on check out day)
