Arrived and told no rooms available in the hotel due to a wedding taking place so had to stay in the outer building that looked like (from the outside) former stable buildings. Checked in to our room and then went over to the hotel to have a drink and was told we wasn't allowed to use the the bar due...

Dear Ian, Thank-you for your review. I have looked at your reservation and I can see that you booked via booking.com into one of our Fir Tree Court double bedrooms which would have been displayed on your booking.com confirmation. Our rooms are listed on booking.com as Main House bedrooms and Fir Tree Court bedrooms to differentiate the buildings. The seating...

The ceilings and wall are very thin, it felt at times as though I was in the room with the people above me and next to me. At 6am woken by the person next door having a hands free conversation with his wife/partner, I am sure had he knew I heard both him and his partners conversations as clear as...

Great looking hotel in a nice location. The room looked OK initially, but (maybe I was unlucky?) the bed was not that comfy and the sheets could have been cleaner - unsure whether they were remnants of the previous occupant(s)? Will leave it there. Great potential if properly maintained I guess...

Just got back from our afternoon tea.wow what great value for money. We had a great selection of sandwiches (better selection than other places) and wow there was lots of scones and cakes. There was so many different teas too. We had a table next to the window with the most gorgeous views. If anything there was too much food...

Just a quick overnight stay, this is a surprisingly inexpensive hotel, rooms are basic but functional, food was good and the staff very helpful. I will definitely go back next time I am in the area. It's a bit out on its own but fine for a night.

I Booked this hotel on a wowcher deal for my husbands birthday, we arrived at about 2.30 pm, check in was easy, we were given the key card to room F41 in Fir Tree Court, I was a little apprehensive as I had read some pretty poor reviews prior to going, the room was right at the end of the...

An absolutely awful hotel to stay in. Rooms are the smallest I have seen anywhere in the world! Plug point was broken, no working temperature control in the room and very noisy. You can easily hear other guests walking above and outside the room even if they are not being particularly loud. Also ordered a wake up call by calling...

Dear Mike, Thank-you for taking the time to review your stay and I would like to apologise for the fact that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I recently stayed at the hotel on a business trip for one night. I stayed in the courtyard area. The room was extremely small and I had to climb over the bed to close the blinds. There was extension leads used for extra sockets, I fear this is a fire risk at best! I thought there was no tea making...

I stayed here for one night on business. Check in on my confirmation was 2 pm. I finally got into my tiny room at 3:40 pm. I stayed in the courtyard some way from the main building. If you are staying on business you can tolerate certain things but not an unscheduled early wake up call at 6 am. The...
