We stayed at Hostal Margarita for 2 nights to visit Gibraltar; the border is a quick 10 minute walk from the hotel. The neighborhood has many cafés, bars and restaurants and a lovely square with fountains, trees and flowers. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall this is a good place to stay for a... More

From Rick Steeves guide book we chose this hostal, as it was close to the border and well recommended. We had a nice room with a large balcony, lots of hot water, large room as well as a large bathroom. The reception was great giving us lots of info on places to eat and visit. It was very hard to... Don't be fooled by the term Hostal, this is really a nice basic hotel. Staff were really friendly, and it has everything you need for a stop over for Gibraltar. It is about a 10 min walk to the border, and a further 10 mins to the rock from there. There are nice resteraurants and barsa just around the corner.... More

Stayed here for one night before travelling on in Spain. Room was basic but comfortable and clean. Staff on reception were friendly and courteous and the location was great for all local bars, restaurants and Gib airport. Will definitely stay here again.

There was a bad smell throughout the first floor and common areas in this hotel. Rooms were very spartan and not particularly clean. The staff at the desk on our arrival was not friendly or helpful. Trash was everywhere in the small parking area out front of the hotel. We booked this hotel due to its location, knowing that it... More

We just checked into this hotel and the first thing that hits you is the lobby and first floors smell like sewer. We looked at the first room they gave us and it was unacceptable so we took a different room. In the second room the covers on two of the electrical outlets are missing and the WI-FI didn't work.... Everything is loud in this hotel, the air-con pipes, the fridge, the hall to which each room has a door, the water from the toilet, the tap itself, the other doors, but least of all actually the road. Best bring ear plugs or stay somewhere else.

The place is in a walking distance of the bus station, border with Gibraltar, cafeterias and some shops. The rooms are truly clean, what makes staying at Margarita a pleasure. The only minus though is the WiFi signal, that did not make it to our room, so we had to hang out in the lobby for some time, Also, the... More

We stayed here for one night while we went to see Gibraltar. The room was large and had a modern bathroom. There was a coffee making machine on the floor below us. The staff were very accommodating and provided a kettle of hot water and cups so we could make a cup of tea in the room. The location was... More

Cheap cost and nice location which you can visit to Gibraltar by the walk and Tapas street in the town only 2 minutes. Also mostly my favorite point is pet allowed !! But there is not enough facilities which no refrigerator, no hair drier. If you buy some fresh food in Giblartar, there not possible to keep in cool. And... More

“If you are a light sleeper it might be sensible to take a room at the rear of the hotel as La Línea de la Concepción is a Spanish working town and comes with the normal associated noise. Ask for a non-smoking room.”
