Hotel in my opinion 3+ but definitely not 4 stars. Some information, 2 sunbeds on the beach a day 10 Euro, taxi to the center of Carmen approx. 6 E. The fee for using the safe in the room is completely incomprehensible to me! 18 euros a week. I have never encountered a charge for a safe box. Why not charge for the use of a wardrobe or TV. Bath towels in the hotel with a deposit of 10 Euro and here is another strange and unusual charge, for each towel change 1 Euro per towel each time. Unfortunately, another downside is that if someone wants to drink coffee outside, all they have to do is use paper cups. The last thing that does not allow to give the hotel 4 stars is often unwashed plates in the restaurant. Probably only the lack of plates and quick washing explains why they are picked up so quickly by the staff. There are also positive things like location, nice swimming pools, one small heated one in the middle for children, very good food. Sufficient number of sunbeds, which unfortunately does not satisfy strange tourists from booking before breakfast. (pictures below) Unfortunately, culture is not something that can be learned easily.…
I have seen some bad reviews of this place and am baffled as to why. You get what you pay for and although it isn't a 5 star hotel it definitely delivers It's spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. The choice of food is phenomenal and if you can't find something to eat there is something wrong with you. The cocktails are tasty and plentiful. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the food in the snack bar wasn't covered and the flys were everywhere. It certainly didn't spoil my experience. There are some ignorant people putting towels on sunloungers to save them which is strictly forbidden but the staff don't really do anything about it. The beach across the small road was huge, there were sunbeds but you had to pay for them, €10.50 for 2 beds. The sea was a little chilly and the waves were strong on windy days. But the weather was hot, up to 29deg some days so the wind and cool water were welcome. There were many shops and restaurants a short walk away to the left and right. You could also hire electric scooters to take you up and down the road, just scan with your phone and off you go. We used these most days and went quite a distance, there are loads of spots you can drop them off and pick them up. Entertainment every night at the hotel could be hit and miss but again tastes vary. It's 10 minutes at the most from the airport so you aren't chomping at the bit to start your holiday. Definitely recommend this hotel, enjoy 😉 …
Nice hotel fantastic location the hotel itself is spotlessly clean as is the room a lovely pool/ snack bar is open all day and drinks and cocktails were plentiful. That’s the good now the not so so good the main buffet is chaotic most of the time which is not helped when groups of children are running up and down with no supervision the food itself is ok you will always find something. In the evenings there is just one big bar with children’s disco and then an act of some description it really needs another bar where you can get away from screaming kids would I stay again I’m not sure the price would definitely be a factor
9 glorious days of walking, dining and drinking in a wonderful area, both Matagorda and Tias not to be missed and we are planning our 2024 Spring break already. A very nicely situated albeit a rather tired hotel. Run down and basic bedrooms although we did pay for a superior sea view room. It needs painting and upgrading but otherwise great food and evening entertainment plus pretty good drinks, service and staff attitude. we were a bit unlucky having chosen 9 days of noisy, unruly and badly behaved gangs of under 5's. There must have been a deal for young families and we could not find anywhere quiet and peaceful to sit, there was no comfort area for us and the kiddies show started in the main bar at 20.30 until 2100, the main show was at 2100 to 22 20 consequently the kids went mad for a whole hour only stopping just before the adult show. Not for us again I'm afraid so we shall be looking for an adults only or somewhere with quiet spaces.…
The hotel is extremely outdated. And also reception staff is very rude and unprofessional. During the check-in their computer did not work and everything was extremely slow. Person also couldn't speak English. Lift did not work, so we had to carry upstairs suitcases and pushchair, which was very hard and unpleasant. But I was more shock when I saw the room. Rust and mould everywhere, towel with holes! But I was even more shocked when I tried to complain to reception about the room, response was very rude and unprofessional, without any offer to change it. Even more they manage to call me unreasonable. We booked superior room with Seaview. I attached some picture of this 'superior' standard of this hotel. Restaurant of the hotel was ok for buffet style all inclusive. Nothing really special about it, but always possible to find something to eat. Although staff at the main restaurant was nice and efficient. Drinks are very poor quality, tap wine and beer, some cocktails from jug, and awful coffee from the machine. I will definitely avoid to book this hotel, moreover probably will stay away from this hotel chain, as seems to be they do not have any standards, and extremely over priced for what it is. On the positive note, the location of the hotel is good. It is very close to the airport and also on the beachfront. Just outside hotel there is nice flat promenade and cycle path. …
On our way to our room we said um ok this does look like a 3- 4 star hotel as it could have done with a lick of paint on the outside. When we got to our room we was pleasantly surprised at the size and contemporary style over looking the beautiful beach. This is a really lovely hotel and people we Spoke to have returned many times. Food was really good and the staff outstanding, really friendly and helpful. We went to the beach most days as it's literally on the door step and lots more space as the pool area is lovely but a bit cramed with sun beds. It's five minutes from the airport so no point in transfers, a taxi I so easy at approx 8€. We went into porta de carman one evening which was buzzing with lots of shops and restaurants and bars. Again taxi was cheap at about 5€. Along the beach by the hotel is a small shopping centre with restaurants and bars. Also in the opposite direction are lots more shops and restaurants. Had a fantastic relaxing time and would definitely recommend this hotel.…
A very well located hotel that is let down by some things that can easily be rectified for the benefit of all. Firstly the hotel its self could do with a lick of paint as could the rooms which are a little dated. That said the cleaners are excellent and very friendly as are all the staff we encountered. Long hours but always smiling and happy to help. The food was a good quality and choice but at times was like feeding time at a zoo and a one way system implemented and implemented by staff would vastly improve the experience for those holidaymakers who have respect and manner for others. The sun-beds are to packed in like sardines round the pool and the usual gripe towels being left on beds all day. We witnessed staff just watching people do this with no challenge despite signs stating otherwise. We didn’t use the pool area for above reasons as there was a lovely beach just outside and we weren’t sad enough to get up at 6.30 to claim a bed !! Decent bars and restaurants either side of the hotel along the front. All in all not a bad hotel and with a few tweaks could be good 7/10…
Stayed at Sol Lanzarote for 1 night due to a flight change. We booked a family room and the room itself is fantastic, lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. It had a sliding opaque room partition between the bedroom and lounge area so you could put the kids to bed and stay up yourself (but on the balcony else the room lights might keep the kids awake). There was a bath in the huge bathroom which makes things so much easier with kids. There was a kettle and a full size fridge in the room. The main bed was huge, bigger than a super king size, and really comfortable. The sofa bed was comfortable too and you wouldn't need bed guards for young kids as the arms of the sofa are there, plus it's nice and low to the ground. We were in room 3104, it was very close to the entertainment and there was fairly loud music until 10.30pm, so if that would be a problem for you, you may want to request a quieter room at check in. The food was fairly good, I don't think you'd have any major complaints but it wouldn't blow you away either. There was a Mr Whippy machine at dinner which looked good. Nice croissants for breakfast. The reception staff were really welcoming and helpful. Overall my impression of this hotel is that it is a really strong 3* aimed at younger people and families. The remainder of our holiday was spent at a nearby 4* AI hotel that cost less but had better food and facilities, although was obviously aimed at older people. In light of the differences, I wouldn't personally stay at Sol Lanzarote again unless it was a significantly lower price than the other hotel, but I do think Sol Lanzarote is a good option for families.…
Stayed at Sol Lanzarote in the half term week in October. Arrived early but lovely spacious room was ready. Well worth paying for the sea view. Food was typical all inclusive , good variety but they don't bone fish! Great location, just a cycle track between the hotel and the lovely beach. Lovely swimming pools , with just the right amount of entertainment during the day. Really nice friendly staff. Our daughter got stuck in the lift, I told a cleaning lady who was straight onto the maintenance staff who had her released in no time. ( with a big hug from the cleaning lady !) The manager had a teddy left in our room to make her feel better. Evening entertainment was hit and miss but overall OK. A well established hotel with plenty of life left in it . Would recommend especially for families.…
We've been in the resort for a few days with hope for a nice holiday.Unfortunately the day before leaving we have been out for a lunch and after coming back to the room after housekeeping I saw my wallet been moved. After checking 20 euros were missing. The wallet was left on the desk but the desk was not cleaning or tidy(see pic attached).Spoke with the hotel manager. That's out of the hotel policy if your money are out of the safety box.20 euros is not much money but it's a shame for a four stars hotel in European country.Be aware.
