I travel frequently for business, even over the past difficult 2 years. For me Hotel Fariones stands out amongst the nicest places I have stayed in. Prices have certainly risen since I was last there a year ago, but still represent good value in this beautiful hotel. It is one of the few hotels where they seem to have a knack for finding and training outstanding individuals not just in their management team, but throughout the departments. It reminded of the Mandarin Group! You know when you see the constantly visible General Manager, Inigo, cleaning tables, pouring coffee etc... etc... that there is a passion for hospitality led from the top. Inigo's exceptional team include guest relationship managers, who are always on hand to help guests no matter what. They sit away from the main reception area, which I think is a great idea. Harriet and Miriam are simply exceptional at their jobs. Lovely personalities balanced with just the right degree of professionalism. It can't be easy finding staff of this quality anywhere, let alone on tiny Lanzarote! I wish them both great success with their careers. I am sure that they will go far. The hotel is beautifully set by the sea and next to a very large beach. Whilst the bars and frontline of Puerto Carmen are on the doorstep, this is frankly an oasis. reflecting the doubtless very significant investment. I stayed in a junior suite, which in my opinion was a little oversold as I would have expected a junior suite to be a larger room. It was very comfortable however. Some people may not like the fact that the double beds are two beds attached together, but it really didn't bother me as it was comfortable. I booked half board and the buffet dinner (& breakfast) was really very good indeed. You can sit inside or outside on a terrace. Miriam, Harriet and other members of the management team are always on hand to seat you. I also ate at the newly opened Asian restaurant. It was unbelievably good. I could have been sat in London, New York or Paris! The bar is set just inside the hotel overlooking the terrace and pool. It is well stocked though a couple of times my wine choice was not available, and I did overhear a guest be told that there was no 'Tio Pepe' or alternative. Again there are some great staff manning the bar. Sandra and Paul are real personalities and good fun! I have stayed in other hotels in Lanzarote and the Canaries - For me this stands head and shoulders above all the others. It is frankly amongst the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere. It was honestly a privilege to stay at Hotel Fariones and experience first hand the result of their teams hard work and professionalism. I cannot wait to return! and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

My friend and I ate in one of the hotel's restaurants on Thursday. We were not residents of the hotel, but we were looking for a treat to end our holiday. The hotel looks beautiful. We were told that bookings were required, but that a table had become free. We were then offered a really nice looking 49 euro menu. We were the only diners in the restaurant at that point, which seemed strange. We sat outside, as the setting is lovely. When we made our choices, we were told that the menu was incorrect and we were given a different menu. We made our choices and all the food was very poor. T he starter was a bowl of what seemed like supermarket bought ravioli with a pumpkin sauce, which was like babyfood. Massive portion of very two dimenional food. Unpleasant. It was followed by enormous sirloin steaks with little else on the plate. Really, one and a half baby potatoes cut into little chunks. I pointed this out to the serving staff and asked for, and received, a green salad to accompany the steak. Throughout the meal, we were asked by a number of nervous looking staff members if everything was ok. When we said anything, it seemed to be ignored. We had dessert, which again was massive and very poor. A big slab of some kind of bread pudding, which was stuck to the plate. Giant portion, no embellishment of any kind. Boarding school food. Totally unsophisticated. It seemed as if there was no chef in the restaurant and some other staff member had to step in. I know that a fortune has been spent on the hotel and it looks very special and I'm sure that they need to deliver certain services in order to warrant a five star status, but I felt that we should not have had to endure that meal. It would have been better to have been turned away and we would have happily visited the local Italian, which I hear is very good. Sorry Fariones, but that was badly done. I hope they up their game, because as I say, it seems like a pretty special place otherwise and the hotel shop (which hasn't opened yet) looks amazing.

I struggle to see how any hotel without an on site gym/fitness suite or a spa/pool can really be 5 star, but this one does get pretty close. We were upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi on the balcony and the room itself was huge - clearly the largest of this type, so no complaints there! Very clean, nice ensuite. The shower wasn't huge, but OK, though no bath which was a bit disappointing. Great sea view and balcony. The staff in general were brilliant. Very helpful and engaging. There were some exceptions, and we did have issues with service while we were there, particularly having to wait for food and drinks. Their ordering system for the bar and pool areas doesn't work very well. Food was generally superb, but the two specialist restaurants on site have very limited menu's and are very expensive for what they serve - you will get much better value going to one of the walkable restaurants on the seafront or the harbour area. The buffet system for breakfast and evening meal is clearly not to everyone's taste. We found it was just about OK, but clearly many of the staff are new and still learning, so whipping away your plate before you even finish the mouthful and while your partner is still eating is the standard. Waiting for coffee and for refills at breakfast was a bit frustrating too. There was some really good service - but too many examples during the week of poor service. My biggest bugbear with breakfast was the toast machine - hopeless. A 5 star hotel should be able to buy a couple of decent toasters that can handle some volume, at speed. The information about the hotel is supposedly all on the app they encourage you to download, except it isn't really, it's just another form of advertising. I learned nothing from it other than that the restaurant menu's weren't very good. There's also no information in the hotel or on the app about the resort or the island so no trips or car hire - all of that is outside in the square across the road. It was fine, but again the hotel is missing another opportunity to make their guests comfortable. No concierge services is another pretty embarrassing omission. Room service simply couldn't cope with our request for a bottle of champagne on our first day - what eventually arrived was pink prosecco for 36 euros! They have an arrangement with a leisure club across the road for entry to hotel guests to use the pool, bar and gym there. We went a couple of times. The staff weren't particularly welcoming - I felt a bit like an intruder into their private space. No one to help with the machines or load up the weights or spot for you. The swimming pool was also constantly in use for lessons when we went there. A shame they don't something on site. There is apparently a rooftop terrace for those who pay for the best rooms, but no one told us about that or the a la carte breakfast option. The only entertainment on offer was a pianist in the bar on a couple of the nights we were there. A shame that he wasn't there every night and accompanied by others - singers, brass, whatever. The ambience in the bar was pretty non-existent. The lack of a spa or a tie up with someone is a mind boggling omission for such a decent hotel in such a location. So, generally very good but really should be so much better. It's not a cheap place to stay. Would I go back? Probably not.

Dear sgncfc, First of all we would like to thank you for spending part of your valuable time in order to extensively share your last experience in our Fariones Hotel *****. We are really glad to read that you enjoyed defined parts of your holiday and we really appreciate your constructive feedback in ways the Hotel can modify or moderate the quality of service. It is with a great pleasure that we learn about your appreciation regarding the free upgrade you got to a Double Relax Room. However, we would like to specify that all our rooms have a shower and moreover our suites have in addition a bath. These rooms also have some priviledges such as the Access to the rooftop and the à la carte breakfast included. This last service can also be enjoyed by all guests with a little supplement of 5€ per person and breakfast. In regards with your comments about our staff, although we can assure you that all of us is constantly working hard to provide a great service, a reasonable quantity is newcomer and we are still in a training process. We can deduce that because of this, some errors can be make but it has come with surprise your comment about the service during breakfast as we regularly serve coffee and juice at the tables. We will look into it as it is the first time we receive a feedback regarding this matter, in point of fact normally the breakfast service is one of the most appreciated services that we offer to our guests. We take this opportunity to inform you that a new toaster with a better capacity and speed will be placed in the Restaurant. Furthermore we would like to inform you that in our App all guests can find all the information of the Hotel, such as the courtesy rules, the offered services, the different menus ( drinks, restaurants, room service menus), the information and description of our rooms, even some information about excursions and some island facts. All users can also find a chat where they can make contact in real time with our guest service. In relation with this, we would like to inform you that the Concierge service is provided by both Reception and Guest Experience Departments. They are the two departments who rely greatly on languages and knowledge. If guests require a certain service both of them will be delighted to assist them. We would also like to inform you that the Sport Centre Fariones is the biggest club in the island, it is property of the hotel with a limited Access to hotel guests and members. We are really sad to read that it did not meet your expectations. Finally, please note that except for specific dates, we do not have any animation and even during these dates we are really selective with the entertainment offered as we do not want to interfere with the rest and relax of our guests. Our main goal is to guarantee at all time the relaxing athmosphere that makes this place so special and precious to the larger part of our guests. Once again we would like to show our most sincere appreciation for your feedback as it provides us with a lot of improvement points and it spurs us on refining our service. We really hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back in the near future and remark noticeable enhancements. Great location, service. The place is immaculately clean. Staff first class. Stephanie and Harriet were so helpful. Food and menus were brilliant. Fresh towels always available. We had a junior suite and it was class. Bathroom amazing. We felt very safe and comfortable in the hotel. I want to return next spring.

The hotel Fariones in Lanzarote is probably the best hotel on the island. This hotel was built in 1967 and was closed for a revamp which took four years. The hotel is sensational staff staff are excellent on the food there is none better on the island. The service in this hotel is five-star. The hotel is on the beach and has three restaurants and if you miss out you’ve missed out. to all the people who follow me on TripAdvisor I can only highly highly recommend this hotel in Lanzarote and perhaps it’s for the bucket list. There is a significant amount of Irish Dutch and very few English I think. The location is perfect to 10minutes from the from the airport and what can I tell you sensational. It’s so good I’ve been here in July November and I’ll be back in January 2022 highly. Highly highly highly highly highly highly highly recommend
