Just arrived home from another amazing stay at the Costa Sal. We were a bit worried at first as its changed ownership to Ilunion hotel group but we didn't need to worry. From the amazing, friendly receptionists (Paulina, Mitas, Anna, Rosa, Patricia) to all the other staff this place is the best place we have stayed in Lanzarote and we have been coming to Lanzarote for 15 years. Its spotlessly clean, the rooms are well kept, the pool areas have more than enough space and sun beds for everyone so no need to get up at 6am to reserve them. The minute you arrive you feel relaxed and welcome. We have been coming to the Costa Sal for over 10 years and theres a reason we keep returning its simply amazing. Its ideally located literally 2 minutes walk from the beach and pedestrianized walkway that goes all the way to PDC. 5 minutes walk away is a small commercial area with a large number of bars, cocktail bar, games room and great restaurants with family friendly atmospheres for all. PDC is a 35 minute walk away along the walkway or beach. This is the main strip that runs for about 2 miles to the harbour. The onsite restaurant, poolside bar and small supermarket offer great tasting and value for money service and food. Not rally much more to add other that we've already booked for November...

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed as a group of 9 adults and 1 child and were due to be in two different two bed apartments. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly reception staff who were very welcoming. They explained that we had both been upgraded to a bungalow which we were all very excited about. The bungalows were right next to the smaller pool at the bottom of the park which was perfect to laze around during the day and a very relaxing place to swim. We didn't use the larger pool near the restaurant, however it seemed to always have plenty of sun beds and is a nice size pool to swim around in! A short distance away is a small shopping area with a Spar supermarket which has pretty much everything you need. Here there are also many restaurants and bars to choose from, we enjoyed La Brisa for breakfast and Decky Dillions was a very nice Irish bar for a refreshing drink and snack. There is also an arcade which has pool tables, a number of games to play on and some delicious ice cream. Also a few minute walk was a luscious sandy beach which has deckchairs available for hire. The beach stretches the whole was along the promenade and you can walk either in the direction of the airport to watch the planes land and take off, or towards many more bars/restaurants. We found E Scooters a simple and easy way to get around but taxis are also cheap and friendly. Puerto Del Carmen is a 5 minute taxi journey away and a really nice place with many shops to explore, places to eat and crystal clear waters to swim in! We loved going on a pedalo, snorkeling to see an amazing number of fish, and sipping cocktails at the beach bar. During our stay we did the Short South Tour as an excursion which enabled us to explore the volcanoes, ride a camel and try some local wine. We also did a dolphin boat trip and while we didn't spot any, it was an exciting ride and there was a chance to jump off and swim with the fish! Two members went to Rancho Texas during the day and loved seeing the animals, incredible shows and enjoying the pool area as well. The hotel restaurant had tasty food and the staff were mostly helpful although we did seem to be forgotten on a busier night and had to flag someone down multiple times to order puddings! There was a good amount of choice on the menu and everything came as asked. There were many themed nights and we especially enjoyed the Bingo and Quiz! Overall, we had a brilliant stay in a clean, friendly and enjoyable hotel where everybody holidaying was having a great time! I would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of booking!!

We stayed here for one night before our flight. The hotel is very relaxing with a gorgeous pool and sunbathing area, which is an oasis of calm. The hotel is well designed, with nice apartments. The team at the hotel are lovely and the service was excellent. The restaurant could do with more Spanish food options, it's a shame not to have delicious Spanish/Canarian cuisine on the menu!

As usual a lovely clean apartment. Been several times to costa Sal we love it. It’s got everything you need to have a very relaxing holiday. Staff are friendly and fix any problem’s quickly. Location is close enough to bars and restaurants for an easy walk but far enough away to not be disturbed by any noise. Can’t wait to return

Staff were great, room and location of room good. Very clean. Limited amount of crockery and cutlery in room. Pool area is very good. Didn’t use restaurant - too expensive compared to other restaurants locally. Don’t go here if you need to have reliable wi-fi access, if you need to keep in touch with work etc, it’s intermittent and a struggle on Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad and MacBook etc.

Sometimes hotels are easy to review, they’re either good, bad or somewhere in between. This hotel isn’t that simple. The hotel itself is good, the room was fantastically big, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and surprisingly, the TV had English channels, notably BBC1, 2, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 and some children’s channels, plus English Radio, BBC 1,2,3 and 4. The complex it set on levels as it is on a hill with each level accessible by steps or slopes, as the entire place is accessible for disabled people, scooter and wheelchairs etc. although I wouldn’t like to push a wheelchair up some of the ramps. Most disabled people used motorized scooters or chairs. There are two pools, one at the top and one at the bottom of the site which is smaller and seems better for children. We only used the top one, which was very nice, a good size, heated and a salt water pool. It’s the first time we have used a salt water pool and, to be honest, it was great. The whole place is secure and there are gates at various points around the site for which reception will give you codes to allow you entry. There is a children’s play ground, tennis courts, spa, a place you can get a massage, which I availed myself of, very nice. The staff were brilliant, couldn’t fault them, reception, bar, restaurant etc. We were self catering, but you can use the restaurant. Breakfast was a buffet style, hot and cold, 12.5 euros a head. We only ate there on our last day and it was very nice. Never had lunch, but we did have dinner three nights. And we used the on site supermarket. And those two last items are why I cannot give the hotel five stars. Nothing wrong with the food. Good quality and well prepared, but the menu was dire. Looked like it had been written by a five year old, and some of the options did not really make sense. Not a great choice, but I can recommend the Chicken breast with mushroom sauce. The choice should have been better, and the menu better written, then I think more people may have eaten there. Choice of sweets was very poor, and the starters didn’t seem to exist. The on site supermarket was very poorly stocked. You can get the basics, but again, with a little forethought they could stock more, sell more and make more money. They have a captive audience (so to speak). The local shopping centre is only a ten minute walk from Reception. A couple of supermarkets, some restaurants and bars, and the usual tourist shops. Never had a bad meal either at the hotel or the local restaurants. All in all, not a bad hotel, but those two issues with the menu and the stocking of the supermarket would really make all the difference. I would go there again....maybe.

The first impression at reception was “this is very nice”. We were allocated a room in 8 block, near the tennis courts and second pool. Although it has ramps they are a little on the steep side but it is almost 100 steps from reception to the second pool. The pool areas were clean and tidy with plenty of sun-beds. The room was clean and well equipped, unfortunately the room was not the same swish feel of the reception area, the windows and exterior doors were a faded green and a poor state of repair and although there was wi-fi it rarely gave you a usable internet connection. We had a good holiday despite the few disappointments. I would suggest that the rooms are only 3 stars, not the 4 star impression at reception, it needs some refurbishment for that.

Myself and my husband had a lovely week staying here. Check-in was fast and efficient and we were very happy to be upgraded to a two bedroom villa by the pool. The villa was very clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. Villas are very well situated with the beach and shops and restaurants close by. We will definitely be booking to stay again!

Have spent the lsst number of weeks trying to get a refund of my deposit back from the new owners at Costa Sal. We were not informed the property had changed ownership & only found out by chance when I tried to view my booking. I have spent the last 3 weeks phoning & emailing the property & being asked for all kinds of information which has all been provided to no avail.Just to make others aware, Illunion are honouring bookings but not refunding deposits on cancellations

Totally enjoyed our trip & stay in your apartment complex. Your staff were very friendly, especially your reception staff. They supplied us with a map which was very helpful. Also on the day we were departing they stored our luggage in a secure room & ordered a taxi for us.
