The moment you check in you get the feeling your in for a great stay. ALL the staff in this hotel are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Firstly we both fancied an adult only environment and this 5* boutique lived up to our expectations the suite was only a classic but had everything we needed with nice touches like free drinks in the mini bar on the first day plus a bottle of cava delivered in an ice bucket. A free bottle of water is also delivered daily. A big plus for my better half was the rituals toiletries and your own private sunbeds. The dining experience was fantastic and varied both at night and breakfasts lead by the amazing Ruben and his happy and brilliant team including Maylin,Liliana,Laura and Jose couldn't do enough for you, the way Ruben gets stuck in himself is a huge credit to the success of the restaurant and I'd like to thank them all and this is the first holiday I've eaten all 7 days at my resort which speaks volumes. Will definitely be returning in the future …
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel recently. The hotel is beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - I mentioned to the restaurant manager at breakfast one morning that the cava they serve in the hotel is one of my favorites, and lo and behold we came back to our room that evening to find he had sent us a bottle (despite the hotel already haven given us a complimentary bottle on arrival earlier that week!). This was just one of the may little things I felt sets this hotel apart. We enjoyed the food at breakfast each morning and the drinks and entertainment in Kentia on a couple of evenings (excellent cocktails!). There were always plenty of sun loungers available - no matter the time of day and the hotel did seem quite full. If I had one small criticism it would be that I expected the pool to be heated given it was November - but many other guests seemed to be enjoying it, even if it was too cold for me! We will definitely return in the future and look forward to it. …
Visited in March 2023, An absolutely superb hotel, which is spotless, and very well maintained, the grounds are excellent. However, not only is the hotel immaculate, but what makes a major difference is the staff, who are all outstanding in all areas. We were half board, the breakfast and evening meal were both in the same format of partial buffet and table service, eg you order type of eggs, personally Ok for breakfast. However, I would recommend more of table service for evening, as the buffet appeared very repetitive. Food quality was good. I would also recommend the hotel considers possibility of exchanging Evening meals meals on half board basis to lunchtime bar snacks for at least a couple of evenings as an option, to enable the ability to sample change of scenery restaurants in the town. Therefore if we were to book again we would recommend breakfast only. We did eat out twice out of 7 nights, where there is a wide selection of restaurants down a steep hill to the main town 5 mins walk, but get a taxi back unless you enjoy a mountain hike back!. It’s €3 taxi fare back. The main bar Kenetra is a fantastic themed bar with a wide range of drinks, an excellent prepared cocktails, whilst the pool area bar always offers wide range of drinks served to your lounger or table, and offers very good table light lunches/snacks. The pool area is again immaculate with lovely padded loungers, and the added bonus of no reservation (holding loungers), this actually leads to plenty of available beds when people actually need them. I would strongly recommend this superb hotel, and it’s is clear they have many repeat customers…
My wife and I visited this hotel in early March. We loved it here. The staff are all amazing and give this hotel an extra lift. We had half board and found the food quite excellent at both breakfast and dinner. Our suite was superb with great views and spotless as is the whole hotel. The pool area is not huge but has plentiful loungers available, and the pool bar sells food and drink until 6pm, at which time the Kentia bar/ restaurant takes over. Entertainment in this bar 2/3 times per week. The location is at the top of a hill leading to both the old and new town. If the walk back up is too much there are always taxis available for a few euros. We found this hotel excellent, making our holiday thoroughly enjoyable, Absolutely no complaints. So thank you to the hotel and it’s amazing staff for treating us so well. I would recommend this boutique hotel, and would happily return.…
This hotel looks amazing and the food is amazing however we are on our second room and the air conditioning did not work in either room despite us complaining on numerous occasions - I suspect the hotel has throttled it back to save money the only positive is whilst it’s roasting during the day it does cool down at night so we can still sleep .
This is a stunning place. We found it last year and booked again this year. This is the first time we have ever gone back to the same hotel It’s a great spot for some winter sun and R&R. The hotel is kid free which is a bonus as we’ve done our bit with the children!! A complimentary bottle of cava on arrival and welcome drink in the bar too! It was my wife’s birthday and we got a surprise complimentary bottle of cava in our room with a delicious slice f chocolate gateau/cake. Really thoughtful touch. It’s calm and relaxing environment with friendly helpful unobtrusive staff makes for a great stay. Daniella in the pool bar even recognised us from last year as we arrived. How amazing compared to the UK!! Breakfast is amazing, not finishing til 11am which gives time for a gentle ease into the day. Wide selection of hot and cold food mainly buffet style but some food cooked to order. Pool area is a real chill zone with a bar area service at your relaxer or terrace. Good range of light bites too. the Kentia restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed the taster menu on one evening. Local traditional restaurants within 10 min walk are excellent. This year we used the wellness centre for a relaxing massage which was really welcome! The whole complex, which is quite small, is spotlessly clean and rooms serviced daily. It’s an oasis of peace and tranquility Highly recommend La Isla y el Mar and we have booked for 2024 already Thank you to all the team that makes it a very special place. See you next year…
Our second visit and still very a special place. As previously mentioned the staff are supreme. Special mention to Danielle who sadly we only met on our first day as she was about to start her holiday. She sums up the ' going the extra mile' for her guests. Super friendly and helpful as are all the staff, from cleaners through to reception, pool and reataraunt staff. Also a big shout out to Mateo at reception who looks after all his guests ensuring a 5* service. DO NOT LEAVE without trying the cocktails, they are simply the best ever. All the above supremely managed by the top guy. Thank you. Steve and Sharon room 705.
Beautiful design and architecture, modern and sympathetic materials, lovely spacious room with separate lounging area and a nice sized bathroom, big bed and fabulous views out to sea from the spacious balcony. The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and perceptive, this place is one of the most relaxing hotels I have had the pleasure to visit. Situated within easy reach of the old town port area and also the tourist strip along the seafront. A free on site car park means you can hire a car and explore the stunning scenery and landscape of the island. Breakfasts were amazing - Iots of buffet choice plus a la carte.
We stayed at this hotel for a week earlier this month. I liked the modern design of the hotel right from when we arrived – it is quite stunning. That coupled with a warm welcome from the front desk meant that we knew we were in for a good vacation. All the staff that we saw were friendly right from when we arrived until we left and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thanks to them all especially Mateo for all their assistance. This hotel has everything that you could want for a good relaxing break and is well located with many restaurants, shops and a bus stop nearby so you can go exploring if you want to. Our room was really nice and spacious and it was a nice touch to have a bottle of cava brought to us in the room to welcome us to the hotel. We liked the choice of food at the restaurant for breakfast each day and also enjoyed the cocktails that we had in the bar. The one thing that I really liked was the pool area and the fact that you could always get a sun lounger as people couldn’t reserve them by putting their towels on them and then wandering off as they do in so many hotels. If we go back to Lanzarote, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.…
The hotel was spotlessly clean - and even after a sandstorm from the Sahara the cleaning team had restored perfection within just a few hours. Every person was incredibly polite and accommodating, the food was excellent and the a commodation exactly as described. We could not be happier and have already booked for next year. Special mention to Marco and Joel who were the most facilitating people you could ever wish to meet on holiday - they represent the hotel so well!
