Really nice menu. Food really nice. Attractive building. Staff very pleasant. We had prawns, scallops and mushrooms for starters and three of the party had the burger and chips. Plates were cleared. I had the fish and chips. Really nice. Would return. Wine lovely too 😀

Popped in on the off-chance for a late Sunday lunch while visiting in the area. Great atmosphere, well kept ales and delicious food. Helpful and cheerful bar staff although the place was very busy. We had a slight wait for our meals but absolutely worth it.

We visited the Cholmondeley Arms last night, with another couple. We were told we couldn't book a table in advance, that they only did a waiting list. We arrived, were very soon seated at a table, no more than 20 minutes. We ordered food. The starters were all absolutely delicious. Plenty of flavour and well presented. Our friends were extremely...

Paid a visit with friends (5 other adults) last Tuesday evening. Had to wait approx 30 mins for a table which was not a problem. Asked if the table for 6 in this recess was acceptable which it was as the main area was busy due to an impending quiz night !. - Good decision, as the recess was a...

We stayed here with friends at the weekend and had a very pleasant and comfortable night. The rooms in the old headmaster's house are delightfully appointed in keeping with the building, with very comfortable beds, stylish en-suite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. The welcome and service from the staff was both amiable and helpful despite the pub being...

We have eaten in the old school house several times previously and always enjoyed the atmosphere and service coupled to excellent food. Sunday lunch on a very busy Easter Sunday was a true test of the establishment to which the staff were more than equal. Whilst there was a wait for our meals it was not excessive particularly given there...

We love this place. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great food. Fantastic cider. The place was full as the hunt had just finished here. The crowd were very entertaining. Really need to book a room here at some point so we can enjoy more of the cider!!

When walking in the door we received a homely welcome from a member of staff. The staff certainly make this venue. The menu has loads of options if you eat meat and fish. I was surprised how limited the vegetarian options were. Are vegetarians not welcome? Does the chef or owner object to meals without meat or fish? I had...
